Remember heretics are syphon witches like Kai, they don't have their own magic. She told Stefan in the flashbacks she had some piece of jewelry that she can syphon from but it was not a lot of magic in the first place. She probably used that litte bit of magic she had to try and save her child.

And it is even less than 9 month. Jo was already pregnant a few month pregnant + she has had the babies inside of her of some time now too.

I think the thing that Caroline has with this, is that Stefan just found that Valerie was pregnant all these years ago and he would have had a child. And yeah it was me, she was pregnant in real life and this is the way they dealt with it. I looked it up and apparently they wanted some random women to show up at Rics doorstep and say she is pregnant with his kids. But when Candice said she was pregnant they changed it to Caroline beeing the one to have the babies.

Damon is also still very angry at Lily because she gave Kai the idea to do the spell putting Elena to sleep, it's her fault he won't see her for the next 80 years and that he feels whatever unwilling resentment he still has towards Bonnie. So even if he was willing to start fresh after her letting him get abused as a child and leaving, she basically betrayed him as soon as she came back into his life. Plus, when she first got back she told him she moved on from being their mother and that she loved her new family more. Yeah, she changed her mind, but she didn't get a chance to prove it to him yet. He doesn't have much of a reason to trust her or to want to forgive her. I also love the scenes between them! Even though he feels so much hatred and resentment towards her, you can see how conflicted he feels, he's obviously hurt because part of him does love her and wants to trust her. Like how obviously jealous he is whenever he acknowledges that Stefan is a mama's boy etc. All of his resentment comes from pain.
