I have a lot to say about this episode so buckle up LOL. First of all, I had a feeling you knew about Nina leaving, and I’m glad we now have confirmation haha. You knew about other things that were way less important so it just seemed impossible that you hadn’t heard about that. Fun fact: when the season was airing, they actually told us a few eps earlier that Nina was leaving, so we already knew this was going to be the end for Elena. I feel like that kinda lowered the stakes of this ep, but it was still heartbreaking nonetheless bc it’s obviously a sendoff for her. You were wondering what the reaction was at the time of airing. Personally, I was PISSED lol. I was really annoyed that Nina was leaving bc she literally is the glue that holds the show together. In fact I actually didn’t even continue the show until years later lmaoo. I’ve only ever watched the next season once and I barely remember anything, so this should be interesting :) This episode is truly amazing; I absolutely love it for so many reasons. I adore each character’s goodbye and the way they paralleled previous scenes. The one with Stefan was beautiful, but the one with Caroline and Bonnie KILLS me. The feathers are perfect, everything was perfect. I LOVE the way they wrote Elena off. I’m so glad they didn’t kill her bc that would’ve pissed off literally everyone lol. They also didn’t go the memory loss route or the “going out of town for a while” route, which is a relief because those are just lame copouts in my opinion. Having her be asleep gives the possibility of return (as you said) but also the perfect way to keep her away from the show. Beyond that, I LOVE that Kai tied Elena’s life to Bonnie’s because it gave Damon the perfect opportunity to prove his development that he has so greatly demonstrated throughout the season! Truly a perfect arc to their friendship. And I know I’ve mentioned this before, but the fact that Damon went from saying he would 100% let Bonnie die if it came down to her and Elena (back in s2), to literally being put in that position and going against his own words, was satisfying as hell!! So so great. The way Damon killed Kai was so incredible too, and I was living for ur reaction LOL.

A next leader can only be determined through the merge with 22 year old gemini twins/kids (as we saw Kai and Luke doing it) and a celestial event needs to happen. Liv would have died either way due to Kai dying. He did the same thing with her now than she did a few episodes ago when she killed the guy so he would not trigger his curse.

The scene with Bonnie elena and Caroline always always gets me specially kat and nina 🥺🥺 I love the way damon picks bonnie up and Walks away Bamon is just Everything ♥️ Can’t wait to see u react to S7. I’m so glad you loved season 6 and it’s my most favourite season as well & will always be….

We already knew Nina was leaving before this episode premiered, so I was so curious how it would go. It was a smart way though since she’s not really dead. This is one of the best finales! Probably my favorite after S3. This whole season was amazing as well. Even though I was disappointed about Elena, I actually love the next 2 seasons. I think S7 is the best when it comes to writing, cinematography, etc. I hope you react to the 2015 Comic Con Panel w/ the bloopers!

Oh god. SO I have seen seasons 1-6 multiple times but have never watched 7 and 8 because Nina left as we saw and I was sad so HERE WE GO!!! lol

I feel like your attitude towards the show changed since delena officially got together 😂so I'm excited to see how you feel about the new seasons w/o that. Personally, 7 and 8 are my favorites!
