The merge is a curse, placed on the gemini twins for the coven to have a leader. After their 22nd birthday (so between 22 und 23 years) they have to do the merge to have a leader. Where the New Orleans witches need the harvest to have power from the ancestors the Gemini witches need their leader. So the prison world. This demention is a exact replica of how the world was on May 10th 1994 just without people. Whatever happens in the prison world will habe NO effect on the outside world. So there were two existing knifes with Jo's Magic, both containing Jo's Magic. These knife have no connection to each other and now that Kai has taken the magic of the knife in the prison world it is still in the knife that is with Damon/Stefan/Ric

Jo went away from the family, she was 22 at this time, because of her family. Their dad never tried to find her because he knew where she was, he said he watched Jo become this amazing doctor. Grams had taken her under her wing at Withmore (she thought there) and she probably kept in touch with Joshua Parker but Jo didn't. . There was no need for her in the coven, she didn't want anything to do with her magic. Luk and Liv were what the coven needed but they still used them as normal coven members because Kai was gone and no threat to them. So they could live "normal" witch lives and probably knew that their sister didn't want anything to do with them ... As for who is the stronger twin. In the season 5 finale we saw a "battle" between these two. Luke could easily stop her spell (when bringing people back from the other side)

If Kai would have completed the merge with Jo, his dad wouldn't be the leader of the coven anymore, he would be the leader and therefore would just be able to kill Liv and Luke whenever he pleases ... They need to merge, just taking the power is not enough. Elenas Dad was a doctors so I think this is part of why she wants to do it.

I honestly do not understand how ppl could ship Bonnie and Kai together. When this season was aired I remember that so many ppl used to like them together, I mean he literally tortured her, how the hell is that good?! And I was also the only person in my group who actually hated Kai, I've never liked him, he's a good villain but I just want him to die.

Stefan kicking the bear is so hilarious and Damon just holding her this whole episode is the most adorable thing 😻I love the last scene of Damon and Elena, we can hear it in his voice how greatful he is to Bonnie was sacrificing her life for him how he tells Bonnie used to listen to him while they were in the prison world and yes Elena does tell him I want you to get my best friend back but Damon wants to get Bonnie back not just for Elena but because he genuinely cares for her and he likes her and wants to save and get her back. It’s so funny when they all realise Liam is still sitting with them and then Tyler tells Liam no it’s not coven we said oven 🤣🤣🤣
