Dorothy

So glad you enjoyed the episode. So the question about when John found out about the supernatural, he didn't. John didn't find out until Mary died. It was her death that made him want to understand what happened. In season 1 we met Missouri Mosley. She was the psychic played by Loretta Divine. In that episode (Home) she said that John came to her after Mary died and she's the one who opened his eyes to the supernatural. But that also means, yes, for the most part John was that sweet, kind and naive guy. And it was the death of his wife that was the catapult to all the events that happen after (him not being the best dad). I love this episode just because it's so heartbreaking. It was Mary this whole time that was the hunter and it's because of her that Yellow Eyes came to the house that night for Sam. I don't blame her. It's just ironic and sad. Also Mary saying that the worse thing she can think of is her kids being raised in this life. 😫 Ugh it just breaks your heart. And I mean she was right. Look at what has happened already. Sam has died and come back to life and he has demon blood in him and Dean has died and been to hell. And that's just so far. I think it's interesting to point out that Sam is very similar to his mom as far as her wants. Just like Mary, Sam wanted out of the life. He wanted something normal and even though he never really met her, they still hold some of the same attributes. As far as the grandparents, that's so awful. Mary lost so much in one night and the boys never got to meet their grandparents. But it's really sweet that we find out where Sam and Dean get their names from. The John and Mary story has always been so interesting to me. Anyway, glad you enjoyed the episode, I think it's the best and richest episode of the series yet, up until this point in the show. Excited to see how you feel about the rest of the season.
