I pretend this season doesn't exist, it really fucks with the DW lore

Henry from CO

And after such a great previous season this one was just so disappointing. I blame it on moving the production from Cardiff to LA. Huge mistake.

Thank you for watching torchwood! I'm glad you liked it!

Yeah. This ending is on of the main reasons why I hate Miracle Day. Torchwood should have ended with Children of Earth. To me, Torchwood ended with Series 3 and I like to think that the time cracks in Series 5 of Who just happened to wipe out the Miracle Day events. Miracle Day just heavily drags and doesn't fit in with the Doctor Who canon. This is supposed to take place around March to May 2011 but it feels too incompatible with the Doctor lore. Amy and Rory are the companions in this time period yet we never see them affected by this in Series 6 of Doctor Who. Miracle Day never gets mentioned in Doctor Who so I still like to believe it didn't happen because it doesn't properly fit in the timeline. It doesn't make sense for Rex to become immortal either since Jack's blood wasn't the reason for Jack becoming immortal. Rose was the reason. Even with the Blessing, it doesn't make sense for Rex to be immortal so I'm glad they didn't follow that thread. It's such a shame that Torchwood had to end like this but I'm glad you enjoyed Series 1-3. In case you're wondering why there was no continuation, Russell T Davies' boyfriend was unfortunately diagnosed with a brain tumour in August 2011 (same year that Miracle Day broadcasted) which meant RTD eventually had to postpone all his projects for a brief period. Torchwood was however put on indefinite hiatus and is pretty much dead at this point. Miracle Day also got a lot of mixed reviews too. Its really divided by fans even to this very day. In the same year, we also unfortunately lost Elisabeth Sladen who played Sarah Jane in Doctor Who which brought an untimely end to The Sarah Jane Adventures and this meant that both Doctor Who spin offs that RTD worked on came to an untimely end so RTD's involvement with the both shows was cut short due to these unfortunate circumstances which is still sad in retrospect. When he was executive of Doctor Who, he'd usually let other writers handle SJA and Torchwood so he could focus on Doctor Who but he still oversaw SJA and Torchwood even after leaving Doctor Who with Tennant. Both shows were his creations so he was still involved in production when it came to overseeing scripts, writing and decision making when he was abroad. RTD eventually returned for new projects such as Cucumber, Banana, Tofu, Years and Years and It's A Sin which came out recently (which I know you've already seen). RTD's boyfriend unfortunately died in 2018 (I remember reading somewhere about how he became a carer for his boyfriend for the years they had left together). As for the future of Torchwood, while the TV series is over, the series actually lives on through audio form with Big Finish. If you ever miss the series just know that there's always the option of buying some audios to listen to new and original stories through the Big Finish website but only if you want to as I know audio medium isn't for everyone. Some of these audios take place during Series 1 and 2 which features all the original cast members returning to reprise their roles. And there are other audios that take place after Miracle Day which involves Torchwood relocating back to Cardiff with an entirely new cast alongside Jack and Gwen who still feature every now and then. I haven't managed to listen to them yet but one day, I might buy some just to see how they are in comparison to the TV series. The Big Finish audios for Torchwood began in 2015 (after getting approved through RTD) and they're still ongoing. Doctor Who has its fair share of Big Finish audios too revolving around different characters (including both Classic and New Who companions and Doctors).
