I think the porn stuff with the boys is more about not wanting them learning about sex that way and how it may affect their views on women. Also, I'm pretty sure that originally the headmistress or whoever said that those two were in trouble for distributing it among their classmates, not necessarily just for having it. That could make other kids uncomfortable. It's one of a couple of little sub plots that just play up toxic masculinity and the vulnerability of women. I'm not saying porn is toxic, but some types can reinforce some negative ideas about sex and women.

I guess the school has to do what they need to do but if the kids want to look at porn they will find a way. I was just surprised to see that storyline in a modern show. I feel like it’s Ellie’s job to discipline Tom as well but she’s so busy which is another reason why Tom is acting out too.
