so much stuff happened this ep i forgot how much happened lol. biana dying, she was such a good character n really added to franks character aswell. debbie is so frustrating omg, i hate how she kinda trapped derek by telling him she was on the pill. ian and mickey are also frustrating they need to be happy, theyve had to go tjrough so much shit. anyways great reaction as always, im in lockdown rn so these give me something to look forward to so thank you :)

I definitely think that trip was necessary for Ian. He wasn't in the best headspace (hence running off with Monica) but he didn't seem manic, so he had kinda a clear head and so he could see things for what they were with her. He saw what he could become if he didn't take his meds. When he thought Monica had gone to do, uh, sexual favours in exchange for money, he didn't look happy, and we know he's done that before, so that was probably when he started to see that they have more in common than he'd like to admit. And the longer he was with her, the more the truth started hitting him. It was almost like looking in a mirror. Maybe a Funhouse Mirror, ya know, a little different, but still a mirror. Him breaking up with Mickey was sad, but made sense. He constantly felt like he was being treated like a child, with everyone pushing the meds on him and not letting him make his own decisions. He didn't feel like they accepted that he was different now. It's really sad... And if he didn't feel that the relationship was good for them right now, then it was best for him to end things. But it was also, as he said, about Mickey and him not wanting him to have to feel he needs to take care of him. :(
