Loved your reaction. This is a crazy episode for sure. This episode was the mid season finale, so we had to wait a while to see the next episode and what Dean had to say. It was horrible waiting! But now maybe we'll find out what's been going on with Dean - beyond the obvious that we already know. Sam (Jared) is still a growing boy in season 2. He was 23-24 during season 2, so I think he likely hadn't fully stopped growing yet. He's like 6ft 6 inches. Yes. 40 miles between towns is not that unusual here in the west. I live in Oregon, and where this was supposed to be set, it's reasonable to be a remote town. But there could be little hamlets. Enclaves. But a sheriff's station would likely be ways away. This infection is not the same thing as being posessed by a demon. Exorcising wouldn't work. They weren't posessed by demon's. They were infected by some kind of demonic virus that made them act crazy. A gun wouldn't have killed the demon, but it did kill these people. Good idea about the demons just making use of the Croatoan story. Good perspective on Dean and why he's acting the way he is. I agree with what you said. Dean's instincts usually are really good. The woman, Beverly, did have a cut. On her shoulder, and that's how she got infected. From her son's blood getting into her cut.
