I don’t know why they gave Margot such Anglo-Saxon last name like “Hanson”. The actress (Summer Bishil) is Mexican-East Indian and it’s not like they try to portray her as some generic White girl with a deep year round tan. Remember when Eliot asked her if she had watched Battlestar (Galactica) and she said “Of course. I love terrorism allegory with mostly White people.”? 😆 And the character of Margot is named Janet (no last name) in the books, but they changed it to Margot Hanson for the show. Remember when the librarian lady (Zelda) called her Janet and she said “Actually, it’s Margot.” and Zelda said “This time.” That was an inside joke for people who have read the books. And I love the whole montage of Quentin and Eliot trying solve the mozaic together and growing old together and I really love that they remembered it all in the end. They bonded so much during all their years together, it would be such a shame for them to lose all of that. And their dynamic is really interesting to me, as someone who believes that “love is love” and you don’t have to put a label on everyone’s sexuality. Quentin is a very sensitive guy who connects very deeply with certain people, and he clings to those connections because he can’t stand being alone. I would say woman are his first choice for relationships, whether romantic or platonic, but he felt a connection with Eliot from the start and he always felt comfortable and safe with him, when he doesn’t feel that way with many people. I can totally relate to that. And that whole montage made me cry too. 😥

Agreed, I love this episode. As much as I personally don't really enjoy too much of Quentin's character I really like how they don't label his sexuality even though other characters label theirs.

I always assumed the beauty of life was death, the idea that life is worth living because of goals and trying to succeed them before you die. The people that you meet along the way and living and dying with them.
