Lol why am I scared to press play?

I love watching your reactions and hearing your view on everything. I watched the showed whenever it first aired (I was like 13 at the time) and now that I'm older I have different opinions on the show rewatching it. Kinda makes me wish I was the age I am now watching it for the first time.

What annoys me about this episode is that had Klaus told this information to Stefan in the first place, he would have had a legit reason to stop people from killing Connor. No need to mention the cure, just that there is a curse if you kill a hunter. Everyone would have been on board with catching Connor and keeping him captive. But Klaus was being a wonderful friend to Stefan by not revealing that piece of information. Other than that, I love the episode as it gives us some insight into Elena herself. My love for this episode is solely for seeing into Elena's subconscious, the rest is only okay. I have written this part before I watched the episode, and thank you for posting it on my birthday. 🤗 Compelling Jeremy without Elena's permission is one step away from a neck snap with his ring on. It took a few episodes for Elena to forgive Damon, but she is a vampire, so she is probably just as angry as she was with Damon because of heightened emotions. To her it is a massive betrayal, and coming from someone she loves and trusts, has made it worse. April's constant line “Have you seen Rebekah?” always makes me chuckle. The reason Elena's parents died was because she went to a party she wasn't supposed to go to, then had a fight with Matt and ended up needing her parents to pick her up. If that hadn't happened, her parents wouldn't have had the car accident and died. This is where you really see her survivors guilt. Although she is seeing hallucinations, these are all of the things which go around in her head. All along, Elena has suffered from PTSD and survivors guilt. The pain has been so bad, that although she never actively wanted to commit suicide, she welcomed death as an escape from the pain. This is why I love this episode. Elena's character makes so much more sense after watching it. I hated it the first time, but on re-watch, it became one of my favourite episodes, for that reason. All of Elena's behaviours, even as a human, now make sense. She is a much darker character than we'd believed. The one thing which is interesting is that in the last episode, Damon questioned Stefan's motives for finding the cure. In this episode, Elena makes it obvious she thinks Stefan can't truly love her as a vampire because of what happened with Katherine and his reaction to discovering she was a vampire. Stefan's odd behaviour has cemented her belief that he can only love her as a human. Especially when she found out that Stefan was trying to cure her. Damon told her for the right reasons, but he didn't know what was going on in Elena's head. Elena believes Stefan can only love her as a human, which begs the question, does he love her for who she is or what she was? If it was true love, shouldn't he love her whether she is a vampire or human? His search for the cure just reinforces her insecurities. There's some symbolism with Damon throwing Elena off the bridge. The first time she went off, Stefan saved her life by pulling her out, but she survived and her parents died. The second time she went off the bridge she died, but again Stefan pulled her out. It didn't save her life, but she survived. The third time, instead of being pulled out to survive, Damon threw her in. I feel this episode it a metaphor for Elena confronting her demons and being able to start to recover from her survivors guilt. This time, she survived to make sure she was there for those people she loved, instead of being prepared to die and leave them behind. Elena's feelings for Damon were magnified, but her feelings for Stefan weren't. When she turned, I think Elena still loved Stefan, and he was the safe choice, but she was actually in love with Damon, but in a more adult way. At 18, she didn't understand her feelings for Damon, I don't think she was able to comprehend how much she'd fallen for him. On top of that, for a human at her age, someone like Damon would be a terrifying prospect to take on as anything more than a friend. She didn't fully understand his nature, and now she's a vampire, Damon makes more sense to her than Stefan does. From Stefan's perspective, he is struggling with the changes in Elena. He thought she would be like him, but I don't think he ever acknowledged the darkness in her. I feel really awful for Stefan, he has pretty much dedicated the last 18 months to looking after Elena, all for nothing. She is no longer the girl he fell in love with, and is she actually right for him? Is Stefan at his best with Elena? I personally thought he was more fun with Lexi. Maybe he needs someone more like her. Is Stefan going to continue looking for the cure and hope that if she becomes human again, the changes in her will take away this intensified love for Damon. Then we head to the most important relationship in the show, how will this affect Defan. They survived Katherine, although it only took 145 years to reconcile, hopefully things will recover quicker second time around. I totally understand Tyler's anger at what happened. Especially as Caroline just didn't understand his grief. As his girlfriend, she should have been supportive, but she wasn't. I know she didn't have much choice with her bribery motives, but that must hurt Tyler even more. Everyone is inadvertently doing Klaus's bidding by trying to save Elena. So many people have suffered as a result of trying to keep Elena human. It is unfair. I do wonder if less people would have died if she had been a vampire after Klaus did the sacrifice. She may have killed people, but I suspect that tally would be less than how many die to keep her from being a vampire. I suspect more people will die if she is cured than if she stays a vampire. My answer to your predictions is aubergine. Great reaction. I'm looking forward to watching the next one with you. Take care. Stay safe. Stay healthy. x

Ah, this episode. I knew you weren’t gonna like where it was going haha. First of all I just wanna clear up the whole “Paul and Nina hating each other” thing. They only didn’t get along in the first few months of shooting the show (so around s1 time). By this point they were cool with each other, so don’t worry! I really feel bad for Tyler in this ep, he was the ONLY one making any sense. I cannot believe everyone else was ok with Chris dying. It really makes me mad. What you said about ppl dying bc of Elena is very true, and it’s hard bc she obviously doesn’t do it intentionally, but it’s still frustrating nonetheless. I LOVED what Damon said at the end. That was really sweet of him and I love seeing that side to him. I think Elena was being really unreasonable with Stefan and I honestly feel really bad for him. That break-up scene, although sad, is so beautifully done. I know you don’t like what route the relationships are going in but I think ur best bet is to go in with an open mind :) Great reaction, onto the next one!

Ugh YES, literally everything you said about the Tyler situation is accurate. I recently rewatched this episode a couple weeks ago and I could not believe that Caroline was trying to justify Chris dying and then saying "well he wasn't a friend" like girl...WHAT.🙃 I get that they needed Jeremy to kill a vampire, and I get that Caroline was maybe trying to make Tyler feel better, I don't know. But its like she was telling him to get over it, when he had just watched his friend be killed in front of him. 🤨🙄 No, ma'am. Wrong. Anywho, I really enjoy the next episode, see ya then👍🏾

I hate that everything just has to fall on Bonnie. She shouldn't have to "get over herself." She is allowed to work on herself. I get that Elena was in trouble but she shouldn't have to face all that pressure all the time.

It's interesting how Elena always rejected Damon before when he was trying to get close with her, but now finally accepted her feelings for him when he was taking a step back at the end there by telling her about Stefan's help.

Do you think you could upload 2 of these a week here? I think having 2 reactions a week could be fun but of course only if you can.

I don't like Stelena and Delena because I like both brothers better without Elena. Nevertheless (in my opinion) breaking up with Elena was the best thing that could happen to Stefan (his character). Delena has a minimal advantage for me (I don't like them LESS than Stelna): 1. I like "not Stelena Stefan" more than "not Delena Damon". 2. And I don't like Stefan more with Elena than Damon with Elena. I did not like Stefan's character until s3, in seasons 1 and 2 I was extremely tired and bored with him.

sara

I agree about season 1&2 Stefan. I liked him as a person but as a character he was so boring.

Nina and Paul actually only really disliked each other through the first season, Nina has talked about it in interviews. They just didn't get along at first but actually became acquaintances probably towards the end of the first season. And by the end of the show they were best friends, and are still really close now despite not getting to see each other anymore.

Jasmine Bellucci

They still seeing each other, actually Paul and his wife goes to Nina house 2 months ago, there's a picture on Nina ig profile

Chris Hanley

Yeah she actually said that Paul is the only one from the original cast she's still in touch with
