Carrie was played on the show by Leighton Meester. They recast for the film. Did you notice Dick joking about his chronic depression? My guess is that statement is more true than false. Dick is just a master at hiding his true self behind that dumb surfer boy facade. Can't blame him though, look at hus dad, his absent mom ( who bailed once she signed over his trust fund), his psycho brother, and the suddenly vanished trophy wife stepmom. People forget that Dick's family was just as effed up as Logan's. I think that's why they stay friends. They understand eachother.

the two books actually take place after the film and before season 4! and piz and veronica only dated for their year together at hearst, then they reconnected in new york a year ago and have been dating since then. i absolutely love this film for so many reasons, it warms my heart seeing most of the characters back after all this time. i can't wait for your season 4 reaction :)

The first book continues Weevil’s story and also Wallace gets a lot more focus than he did in this movie. I bought the first book when it came out in paperback, and got the second as an audiobook, but I’ve lost both. It’s been several years, so I don’t remember them very clearly, but they are worth reading or listening to. I think I want to get them again. 🙂

I always considered it more, rather than they can't change, that they had a choice to make. That choice being to fight against the corruption of their town and kinda stay the same to stay in that fight, or to change but in doing so give up their connection to that battle and leave the town to fend for itself. I will say it would have been kind of interesting to see high powered lawyer Veronica fighting for the little guy in the hometown during her spare time instead of PI Veronica.

Yeah it still wouldn’t be a choice for Veronica IMO, she was destined to be a PI again at some point because she’s addicted to that life.
