Surprise, surprise I actually agree with the bloodsharing thing: he should not have done that and he should should not have told her not to tell stefan and than told him himself. But I honestly dont think he was planning to tell stefan, it just came out in the heat of the argument. And also: when Elena came to him for help she couldnt keep animal blood down, she wouldnt drink from a human (which he offerend first, so its not like he was going out of his way to get her to bloodshare with him, you can even see him flinch when she askes him for help, he didn't wanne do it but thought it was the only way to help) so the only option remaining was vampire blood. Still wrong though and not trying to excuse it, he should have probably just send her to stefan. As to him still beeing in town: he stayed because of the hunter, hes not gonna leave Stefan and Elena there while a vampire hunter is in town.

Will just say that Delaric scene At the end there always breaks me so emotional he lost his best friend and the reason Damon doesn’t allow anyone to sit in that seat is cz of Alaric it’s only reserved for him not even Elena and that’s so so sweet of Damon. The memorial scene with Stefan and everyone was also very touching that’s Stefan for us he’s a sweetheart. Damon/ Elena blood sharing scene was so very hot I agree with you glad that u found it hot haha but yes he shouldn’t have done it I agree with that yes he was trying to help her but still I don’t think it was right but I enjoyed the scene anyway 😁 I don’t like this hunter guy he’s weird. April looks very cute. It will be very interesting to see Elena as a vampire further on. Next episode also is a great one can’t wait for it!!

Personally I wouldn't say Damon manipulated Elena to feed from him because he did offer Asian fusion, Mexican, and American comfort food but she insisted that she didn't want to hurt anyone. Also when she said that you can see Damon's face before he drinks is like "Mhmm fuck I guess let's try this" but yeah even though he did think that maybe it would work, he did took pleasure from the situation. Oh and about him saying "Seat's taken" I feel like it's mostly because he is still grieving over Alaric since I do believe that Alaric always sat to his left when they went for drinks and about Alaric looking like he knew something was going to happen, again I just feel like it's just that Alaric got to see that Damon does actually miss him and that Alaric also misses him which is why he said, "I miss you too buddy".

Yeah me too she could have chosen to go to Stefan and ask him to drink his blood but I agree on Damon liked to situation. I also think that she, if she'd have known what this means to the brothers, she'd not done it. She said she didn't wanna hurt him and if she'd know it hurts him she would have turned Damons offer down. Yeah the seat was Ric's and he said it ad if he'd come into the bar any minute. He misses his best friend <3

But even though you don't like Damon you have to admit his humor/his lines are quite funny and without him the show would be definitely less funny/humorous sometimes. The ones with Connor with the germaphobe or that he breathes fine is so typically Damon :D An all time favorite of mine is the one with "here's the newsflash, we're not japanese" , I don't know why but I find it really funny.

Damon wen't away from them when they had their memorial because I believe his grieve over Ric is so bad that he couldn't be there I can totally understand him here I tent to leave situations that are too overwhelming. He left because of this and because he is not good in confronting his feelings with that and thinking about it too much but deep down he is just so sad. Playing it down with telling himself they are children etc. helps him cope in some way I think. And he did not go of and kill an innocent person so -> progress ! For the leaving it was when she was human so the situation is different now and could see him leave when Stefan and Elena wouldn't have been kidnapped last episode and now with the new hunter in town.

Just like I said compulsion isn’t always bad and sometimes needs to be done. Damon couldn’t leave because Elena is a vampire, he couldn’t leave when she needed them the most and now there’s a vampire hunter so he’s definitely not leaving

I think it is really saying a lot that he doesn't want anyone (not even Elena) to sit there :( He is not rejecting Elena like you thought because he had no problem when she was on the other seat.

The blood sharing thing is a huge no for me. You can see on his face that he takes pleasure from it. If you read the books, blood sharing is a very intimate & sexual act so Damon not telling her about what it means is just gross.

This entire episode was just incredibly dreadful (tone wise), maybe it's because of all the funeral and memorial talk or maybe it's because we're now four seasons in and still can't catch a break but it's really put a damper on my spirit seeing everyone suffer.

I love how much ur enjoying vampire Elena! It is really interesting to see her experience bc we're so used to seeing her as a human, and she's never gone through these struggles before. Also if they use the word heightened one more time I might have to cry. Seriously there are 5993 other verbs to use PLEASE use them LOL

This is one of the few episodes with the entire main cast. The scene where Stefan and Damon are discussing Elena and whether she should be on animal blood or not is very similar to the one they had when Vicki turned. Now, I'm not saying Elena shouldn't go on the animal diet, but she lives with a human, if Jeremy cuts himself and Elena can't control the bloodlust because she only feeds from animals, she suddenly becomes a danger to Jeremy. Stefan tried to make Vicki go on the bunny diet and he did the same with Caroline, neither worked (even Lexi tried it and failed). A blood bag wouldn't help her learn to control herself. Caroline killed a human and also managed to spare the nurse. The thing is, Caroline is a neurotic control freak on crack (her words) Elena isn't. Elena needs to become safe just like every other vampire before she can make her life choices for diet. As awful as it is, I think learning snatch, eat, erase is the safest way forward for Elena (or a willing volunteer like Matt). Once she's mastered it, then she shouldn't have an issue around human blood. Elena didn't leave Damon many options, and I think he was half expecting her to come to him. Although I'm not sure if he wanted it. She'd just rejected him. She wants Stefan when all is rainbows and unicorns, then when she needs help for doing the nasty stuff, she involves Damon. I'm not sure whether he expected her to actually go ahead with it. She could still have said no, lets get a blood bag. But at the end of the day, he should have made it a little clearer what being personal meant and let her make an informed choice. I do agree though, the biggest issue is that Elena went to Damon in the first place. It begs the question as to why she needed to put so much emphasis on keeping Stefan out of it. Is she doing the bunny diet just to placate Stefan? She only just chose him, maybe she thought if she opted to go with his diet, it would reinforce their relationship. If so, it is the wrong reason to go on the bunny diet. The other option is that she is trying to pretend to still be human. Maybe she thinks going on the bunny diet and still eating human food would make everything seem normal and she could ignore the fact that she is a vampire. I understand part of it is because she doesn't want to kill anyone, but if she learns self-control, then there is no reason to kill anyone. So that doesn't really explain the bunny diet choice. I think Damon's perspective letting her turn off her humanity and then getting it back on is to help her. Maybe he thinks that if Elena does it once, then no matter what happens, she'll be stronger and be able to deal with anything without resorting to turning it off because the consequences are so horrible. Stefan on the other hand wants to avoid that and protect her from it. I get both sides. One wants to protect her with his own strength, the other wants her to be able to protect herself. I like that Tyler knew that Damon wanted to go after Connor, so he went up and caused the distraction. They knew what Connor was doing and as Tyler is a hybrid, Connor couldn't kill him. This was to allow Damon to go after Connor and try to kill him. With regards to the lantern part, if Damon had joined in, it would have made him a complete hypocrite considering he had a large hand in the death of most of the people that were mentioned. I think part of Damon's self-conversation with Ric was in the hope Ric was listening. Damon knows about the other side and that if they are thinking about you, they can hear what you are saying. So he was directly talking to Ric, knowing Ric wouldn't talk back, but despite his grief, he knows his friend is still there is a way. I think Damon likes to handle his grief in private and not burden others with it. Oddly, Damon seems to be the most affected by Ric's death. In fact, he seems to handle death worse than other characters, which is ironic as he doesn't have an issue killing people. Circumstances changed when Elena became a vampire, which is why Damon is still there. Plus there is now a hunter in town. I think Damon's plan was to help Stefan out with Elena if he needed it and then leave. The hunter has changed things. Compulsion is occasionally a necessary evil. Damon didn't care that Katherine was a vampire. Why would he care about Elena changing? He tried to turn her in S2. His problem is that nobody is allowed to sit in Ric's seat. Great reaction. I found it interesting to hear that Damon’s complaint about the memorial at the end is about the concept of letting go and moving on. Damon doesn’t know how to let go. He waited over a century for the mere chance to be with Katherine. There’s this emotional loop between pain and grief with rage and violence because he can’t/won’t/doesn’t know how to face it. I have to remind myself that the Salvatore brothers were killed by their father and it makes me ponder how they each turned out.

I think what happened to Bonnie with Grams explains part of the reason why her mum left. They both did black magic and it affected Bonnie badly as the spirits of nature punished her. They did something to Abbey with her magic too. Her magic disappeared like Bonnie's has. I'm guessing that Abbey had some strange vision too. Maybe it was about Bonnie.

Agree with most things, exept I dont think Damon expected anyone to listen, he was just looking for a way to process his grieve without killing someone (like Jessica) and just went to his best friends grave to mourn. Damon isnt the kind of person who wants anyone to see his emotions. Plus I dont think its surpriseing thst hes most affected by Ricks death, he has a short list of people he cares about but he cares very much for them. As to Elena going to Damon: I think she didnt think Stefan would understand, she even tried to explain and he wouldnt listen. Stefan is putting a lot of pressure on her, by how he is (he is successfully on the bunny diet) and by how adamant he is that she should never taste human blood, not even a blood bag. Its also very clear that he doesnt want her to be a vampire so of course shed have reservations about going to him, especially when it about problems with her transition that might require her to taste human blood.

Just cause I didnt see a comment explaining it yet: When Tylor got shot by the hunter for the first time Stefan said Tylor would have died if he was a normal Vampire. Hes a hybrid though. So when he knew someone was most likely gonna get shot in the church and he needed to get everyone out of there he went to the front expecting to get shot and expecting to survive like he did before. The hunter probably thought he missed that morning and just assumed Tyler would be a normal vampire so he tried again (as epected by Tylor) and Tylor survived since Hyprids can only die from removing their heards or heads if I remember correctly.
