Have you seen the season 1 gag reel yet. You should watch it. I'm not asking for a reaction of it, but I suspect others will. Here's a link. https://youtu.be/6XbZ76Zfioc Part of Dean's injuries came from the demon when he was bleeding in the cabin. The demon was basically cutting into Dean. He would likely have died from those injuries along. Those were likely the liver and kidney injuries. Then he hit his head in the accident. He wasnt breathing on his own. Those old cars were built pretty heavily. Real metal. Much tougher than cars today. But, yeah. John should have been hurt bad. They don't wear seat belts! Dean was really dying. The machines were the only things keeping him alive. That's why he was out of his body. His spirit left his body. Some people will insist he was never really dead, but I think that's it's all relative. His heart may have been beating, but his spirit was not getting back into his body. He was dead. No getting back into the body once that happens. His spirit was just waiting for the body to give out - or the Reaper to take him. That's still a bit of a mystery. I Really! liked the conversation scenes between Dean and the Reaper. I love that sort of stuff although it may bore some. I'm pretty sure the Living on Borrowed Time phrase she made was in reference to when he almost died in season 1 in the Faith episode. He should have been dead from that. It was frustrating to not see Sam try to use his powers. I'm sure he was trying to ignore it, since in that family, having powers like that - especially connected to a demon thing - would be a bad thing. Trying to ignore it seems to be the way they deal with it. Especially after that one special kid from last season who turned out bad. They're scared of what those powers might mean. John knows stuff, and knows lots of hunters. I was pissed that he didn't seem to be trying at all to find something to help Dean. That he chose to make a deal instead seemed crazy. Had to be something else they could do! He seemed to know a lot of "lore" stuff. I suspect it's because he knows that stuff might not come cheap. Like with the Faith episode. But still. That deal?! I think the still low budgets kept them from doing any special effects where he'd try to touch someone and his hand would pass right through them. They have more money than season 1, but still pretty tight budget. Plus, it was 2006, and a tv show. On the WB - or CW by then? Anyway. I really liked this premier when I first saw it. I liked how Dean showed his stubborn attitude about never giving up. BUT, I do think he would have gone with the Reaper if he hadn't been restored. Of all people, dean wouldn't want to become a ghost. Not the very thing they hunt. I also loved how Sam was in this episode. The brotherly bond has come a long way since the first episode.

Be careful - there will likely be lots of spoiler's being thrown about in comments starting with this episode and throughout the season. Most won't mean to spoil things, but just won't realize that it is a spoiler. I probably say too much myself.

sorry for hogging the comments - I forgot to say how much I liked your comments. Some good thoughts there. I agree with most of them. lol

Oh yeah same, although it'd be cool if you could react to it
