So good hearing all your thoughts. I feel same poor Elena she is stuck and it’s too late to come out of that she will probably choose one of the brothers for sure. I like Matt this season alot he is a good friend. The actor who plays Matt had auditioned to play Damon’s role he was very fascinated by it haha I wonder how would it be to see them exchange roles 😁 Great reaction can’t wait for season 3 finale the last few episodes are crazy good. You will be at the edge of your seat. One suggestion if you can then react to episodes 20, 21 and 22 or the last 2 episodes together. Can’t for it!!

With the Forbes beeing the Sheriffs I'm confused. I would guess that Carolines Mum has an other maiden name than Forbes so if this should imply that family Forbes has a lot of Sheriffs this is weired :D Stefan and Damon were turned in 1864. 1912 Damon didnt know how bad Stefans condition was (they haven't seen each other for 50 years) and Stefan said he is okay so he wanted to show him he is normal. Damon said fed on people to satisfy his hunger and than it is good. But Sage told him to embrace it. Stefan had Lexi who helped him not be this kind of vampire and Damon had Sage as his "mentor" ... We see what that did to him

100% agree and I would suggest watching at least 2 together if you have the time for it

Totally forgot to say. Remember in the beginning of the season when it to Ric much longer to get back to life after beeing killed and they even said is there something off with that ring because it didn't seem to be fully working ...

Up until meeting Sage, Damon kept himself to himself. He had no interest in women and fed purely to stop feeling hungry. There were no blood-bags back then, so snatch, eat, erase was the only option. Stefan had Lexi who mentored Stefan to abstain and drink animal blood. You can see how the different approaches turned out. They were the complete extremes of one another. I'm not sure whether you have noticed, but vampires can be naive and are easily manipulated. This is what happened with Damon and Sage. Damon had been surviving miserably. He had kept celibate for almost 50 years, which for a vampire is not a good idea. A celibate vampire is as bad as a veggie vampire regarding being a loose canon. Sex is as much of an outlet to a vampire as blood. This ties into the previous 2 episodes with Damon and Rebekah because his anger turned to hunger, which he instead channeled it to sex instead of killing. Sage taught him to embrace what he was; he was lonely and naive and fell for it. His mentor's were pretty reprehensible. Damon himself wasn't bad, he just fell in with a bad crowd. Stefan was mentored by the good vampire Lexi. She should have taught him moderation, but went to the other extreme because Stefan couldn't cope with the guilt. Stefan opted for animal blood, which was noble but it made him not only miserable, but a potential loose canon around human blood. Stefan was about to go off the rails. Damon stopped him. Blood bags don't satisfy the need as much as fresh blood. But for a vampire to be able to survive on blood bags, they have to learn to control themselves. They can't learn that from blood bags. Blood bags can help, but a vampire who can't control themselves around bleeding humans is unsafe. The only way for Stefan to learn is to feed from a live human and to learn how to stop. I guess Damon could have asked for a volunteer, but who would do that? It is the guilt which ends up making Stefan rip people apart. Once he owns that, he can move onto blood-bags. Stefan needs to own control, which Damon is the only one who cares enough and is physically strong enough to help Stefan. If Stefan went into a blind ripper rage, he would accidentally kill Elena. While ever blood controls Stefan, he can be used like Klaus used him. Klaus may have invited Stefan to the party, but Stefan did kill voluntarily. If he'd have been able to control himself, he would only have killed people when Klaus made him, the rest would have survived. It is that guilt which is causing the problems and is risking sending Stefan off the deep end and pushing him to turn his humanity back off. Damon made Stefan see feeding from a different perspective. He fed from that girl to save her life. It was a different mental approach, but one that would appeal to Stefan. A clever tactic. During S3, Damon has been drinking blood from a glass which came from a blood-bag. He hasn't gone back to feeding from people as such, this is just temporary while he is teaching Stefan how to feed. Once Stefan is controlled, they will both be able to feed from blood-bags and Stefan won't have to worry about the blood controlling him any more. In 1912, Damon had no idea the extent of Stefan's problems. He thought he was trying to reconcile with his brother. He was shocked and almost disgusted with what Stefan did. Maybe he could have helped, but I'm not sure whether he was capable of helping. With the invention of blood-bags, Damon can do something about Stefan's problems. Damon told Elena at the end of S2 on his deathbed that he had blamed Stefan all of these years for making him what he was. But nobody forced Damon to love her and it was that love which made him stay a vampire. I think if she had actually been dead, he would have killed himself. I will say something controversial, I agree with you regarding Matt. In S3, Matt is one of my favourite characters. He is a good friend, the type we all need now and again. Matt knows Elena better than anyone, and he already knows where her heart lies, even if she doesn't. I'll address the Alaric situation in the next episode. This is already too much of a rambling essay. Great reaction. Really looking forward to the next one. Take care. Stay safe, stay healthy. x

Just wanted to say that I appreciate these reactions from you. Your TVD reactions are always a fun distraction for me. We don’t agree on a lot of things about the show because the way you watch vs how I watch is just fundamentally different. But that’s totally okay because I still find your thoughts interesting.

I liked the moments between brothers because Damon is right, they are all they have, the last Salvatore, two brothers, nothing else should matter ...
