Yeah this finale was kind of a mess. It had the potential to be so much better than it was, but there was too much unnecessary stuff, too much to wrap up with this convoluted mystery, and you’re right they glossed over too much and left out so many reactions that I would’ve liked to have seen. S1 was so much better, but overall I still loved S2, and I even love S3. I might actually prefer S3 to S2 actually, but it’s hard to say. S3 is just really different now that high school is over. A lot of people say high school shows die when the character graduate and go off to college, but VM being set in high school was never a big draw for me in the first place. I just really love Veronica as character and how smart and sharp-witted she is. I like the noir mystery vibe, not necessarily the high school drama. And Veronica is so different from so many other young female lead characters in shows who are so naive and optimistic and nice to everyone almost all of the time (when a lot of people are phonies and assholes and deserve to be called out on it), but she’s a total hero at end of the day. She’s one of my favorite characters of all time, even if the show wasn’t always perfect.

to answer a few questions - so beaver is a year younger than veronica and dick has summer school (thanks to mr wu from a previous episode) so that’s why they didn’t graduate! tarrance was shot by miss dumas’s dad for breaking into their property trying to steal a story she was writing about him throwing his games. there were very few hints about Jackie’s background such as the fact she was a good waitress, and also in a previous episode where she was talking to her dad about alternaprom, she said “relax dad, i learned the birds and the bees the hard way remember?” which was supposedly alluding to her having a child. veronica had no signal at the airport so presumably keith did let her know but she just couldn’t see it! and yes, it’s season 3, the movie, two books, then season 4! i can’t believe you’ve finished season 2 already, it’s been a blast! :-)

ALSO! kendall visited Aaron in prison to try and get him to invest in Phoenix Landtrust, he agreed as long as she “visits logan” for him. when she went to Logan’s hotel room, we see her go into Duncan’s bathroom and take his hair from the shower drain. That’s why Duncan’s hair was mysteriously found on Aaron’s oscar statue because Aaron agreed to invest if she would plant his statue there with Duncan’s hair on!

Oooh yeah that makes sense! So much going on though.

One of the things I wish the most was that they had done better with Veronica and Logan getting back together, instead of just having them kiss to show that they had gotten back together off screen, apparently at some point after the roof scene and Logan finding out (off camera) that his father had been killed. They must have had some serious, heartfelt conversations (probably?) in between that and kissing as Logan told Veronica he was going miss her while she was in NY, but we didn’t get to see it, so even though I was really happy that season ended with them back together, I felt a bit cheated of a more emotional reunion, especially after that heartbreaking morning after scene at Logan’s hotel room, that they never actually addressed. Veronica just got over it, I guess. 🤷‍♀️

i'm late to this, but although i really liked this ending, i do agree it's rushed. I feel the reason it's rushed, same as season 1, is that they wanted the "who is the killer" reveal to be shown only in the very last episode, which is understandable for the shock surprise, but it wasn't carried out as amazingly as they could have. As you mentioned, if they dragged it on a few episodes, and left a few more clues (e.g. Jackie having a son and lying about her mom and situation..etc..) it would have been much better.
