I’m glad you enjoyed this episode as I have a slight soft-spot for it. I enjoyed your ideas of commentary on this episode, I’ve never really seen it that way before and it makes sense. Although, I’m curious on how you feel about the Doctor? Because I can’t tell if you like him, dislike him, or just indifferent?

I think there was a strong implication (to judge from her impractical,revealing clothing - the fact that she was rescued from the wharves of London etc) that Rosita was originally a 'lady of the night'. (It was a family show,so they had to be somewhat careful). That being the case,Lake ultimately succeeded in doing something very doctor'ish after all: he found someone who,through being his companion,was able to untap her true potential and become better as a person. I really enjoy the first half of this story,with the mystery of Jackson Lake. After that,I usually switch it off;as Miss Hartigan is massively underdeveloped as a villain/character;David Morrissey is no longer the focus;and the giant Cyberman is simply too silly for my taste. Interesting trivia: the sight of the Doctors in the memory stamp was the first time the new show visually acknowledged all of the Classic Doctors. We'd caught a brief glimpse of #7 and #8 in the Diary of Impossible Things (back in Human Nature);and obviously #5 in Time Crash - but this was the first time in the revived show that we got to see all of them.

I like David Tennant for the most part. Great actor and he feels like “The Doctor” but I always find the companions more interesting because they are human and female. I generally relate to women more in shows.

Glad you enjoyed this episode more than the last special. Interesting perspectives on the themes of the episode. This is probably one of my least liked episodes over all. Nothing essentially wrong with it. I've always found the specials to be a bit more miss than hit over the years. Always fun to see someone else get something out of them that I haven't. Helps to see them in a new light. (I like the shirt by the way!)

Glad you enjoyed this. I really find your viewpoints and ideas of the commentary of episodes very interesting. To me, this is a really feel good episode. I like the initial mystery of Jackson Lake. I really like him and Rosita sort of adopting The Doctor and companion dynamic for a bit. Miss Hartigan is a good villain too. I also really like the ending. I wish we had more time to explore these characters. Hopefully this can happen in the future with an audio series with Big Finish bringing these actors back to reprise their roles in audio form. That would make me really happy if it ever happened.
