This is a fun episode. Some interesting revelations with a lot more to come. I could see both Elena and Stefan's argument regarding what to do with Elijah. Luckily it worked out for them (apart from freeing Katherine who was showering in make-up which didn't run). Now you know how Stefan met Lexi. Also that Damon and Stefan have pretty much swapped places. The brothers have had an interesting life. When the humanity switch is flipped, it can take years for it to fully return. At the end of S1, Damon told Jeremy his humanity had been off for a very long time, he is still gradually getting it back. Turning it off just puts the problem on hold, they still have to face whatever caused it when it is turned back on, plus the remorse and guilt of their actions whilst their humanity was off. Rose said the switch didn't exist, but that only applies for older vampires. Stefan and Damon are still young enough to flip their switch. You'll find out what caused Damon to flipped his switch and it is truly horrific. You might even feel some sympathy for him. ;) Lexi was 350 years old. I'd love to know more background about Lexi. I wonder if she was a nurse or a nun when she was human, but her compassion and desire to take care of people must have been a human trait. I can't say much about Stefan's road to goodness and him not feeding from humans as it will lead to spoilers. Damon mentioned in 2x8 that Stefan used to rip people apart. A vampire ripper rips people apart when they feed. Damon doesn't do that. I can't say much about Bonnie and her powers as that is too spoilery. That in turn applies to discussing Beremy. I think John just wanted to make sure Damon was dead. I don't know if he knew about the need to keep the dagger in Elijah. If Katherine had told him, she might have left that small part out to potentially get John and everyone else at the dinner party killed. Elena really stood up for herself against the brothers in this episode, and so she needs to. They need to be kept on a tighter leash. I can't say anything else otherwise it will spoil the next episode. Great reaction, can't wait for the next one. Stay safe, stay healthy.

This is one of my favorite episodes from season 2. It somehow manages to be humorous, informative, emotional, and bad ass despite the lack of action. Elena is the best here because she plays against everything you usually expect from her- she's understanding during Stefan's story, is the one saving everyone's ass this episode, she's the final one to truly take down Elijah, and in the end she steps up to actually be the lead instead of the one in the center everyone is constantly trying to shield. It's always nice to see Lexi as well, I always forget how much I miss her until she shows up to remind everyone how brilliant she was. I think this is the last episode of this season that has that eventful & teen drama feel to it, everything becomes very melodramatic after this but in a good way.

I'll be honest, this is an unpopular opinion, but the way they got Elijah seems far-fetched, Elijah is presumably old, yet, somehow gets tricked......twice......okay sure. I guess I could forgive the Writers, seeing as how Elena did stab Herself, which was crazy for Her Character. I agree with you about John too, most people hate Him, I never really disliked His Character. He has issues, yes, but so does everyone else, I never hated Him. I really liked Stefan's Story & seeing Lexi again.
