It was a lovely full moon and you just happened to go for a walk that night to clear your head. Unfortunately, a 7-foot monster wolf crossed your path and... well you became lunch... or breakfast. Whatever.

You're dead. Side thought, could a werewolf have a Renfield-esque servant and dogs body (pun intended). It'll need bloody fur de-knotting, Heimlich if it chokes on a bone and bellyrubs?

I like to believe dead is the better option. Realistically being cursed is horrible and painfully agonizing, both morally and physically. Becoming a mindless killing beast once a month in the most painful transition possible only sounds good on paper. You’re forced to isolate yourself to protect others or go mad accepting the nature of the beast as your own (psychopathy). Even if you do a balance between the two and have a partner willing to accommodate you once a month, the real fear of making a mistake someday and waking up to find your mauled family is hard to shoo away.

Having the person killed by the werewolf become an undead werewolf themselves is something I’d never heard of before. What if it kills animals? An undead sheep werewolf? A cow?

Unrelated to the question I know but I just read up on some werewolf lore from France. Apparently there was a belief that a werewolf who had been killed came back as a vampire. I’d not heard of that one either. Take that Twilight!
