So, apparently Patreon's new asinine idea is to start charging taxes. I'm looking at solutions and talking to a couple tax attorneys about wether or not digital commissions should be taxed, in this situation.

I hope everyone sticks with me through this, but I will not blame anyone if they don't.

I have loved your art style for a long time now, unless they start taxing like 150% charges I dont plan to leave, thank you for your dedication and great art.

You'll need to contact a LOT of tax lawyers, because each state has its own tax code and they don't all count everything equally. This is not really Patreon's idea, it's (a few of the larger) States demanding that Patreon (and Amazon, Etsy, Ebay, etc--"Marketplace Facilitators" who connect a seller and a buyer) collect the taxes we already owed but that nobody bothered to self-report on. If you get technical, every purchase of an item or service taxable in your home state, no matter who from or how, was supposed to be reported *by the purchaser* to their state tax bureau. In practice, nobody does that, for obvious reasons.

Yeah, pretty much got an answer from a couple of my dad's friends, it involved several weblinks, and it looks like for most of the states, digital art isn't applicable. The handful that do, have low tax rates (like CT's 1%).
