Fall 2018 Song Pickups + Small Update (Patreon)

Hey everyone, so unlike last season where we ended up picking up zero new songs, this season for Fall we currently picked up two songs to work on (there's was a 3rd originally but we're thinking of dropping in favor of working on past TYER songs instead). W're going to "attempt" to fast-track these two after how slow and behind our Spring 2018 songs ended up being (two are still not done yet, oops), so here's hoping these will go smoother!

We also had a couple folks message asking if we were/why we didn't pick up any songs from last summer's season. While we had originally planned to pick the Free S3 ED and possibly a My Hero Academia song, we mutually decided that the last couple seasons we were spreading our resources too thin and because of how unpredictable certain vocalists' recording schedules were, it was getting very difficult attempting to release 3-4 songs per season on-time (I think there was only one season where we did manage to release all the songs during the shows' run which was Here, Here and there, and over and over).  The following season we got 2/4 on time and the season after that only 1/4 on time. There is also a lot of competition and unfavorable comparisons drawn between the "big anime song cover" singers at the moment which was something we were never very fond of to begin with. This was a very big factor that played into our decision not to cover Odd Future which everyone in the group loved.

I think we've mentioned it briefly at times before but long story short, we're looking at cutting down the number of new, currently airing songs we pick up and instead are choosing to focus on past TYER covers instead as there's less of an urgency and mad scramble to get them out in time during the show's hype.  We're still going to do a few new songs here and there but we're probably not going to be doing the rapid new song uploads purely because our vocalist collaborators can't keep up with the strict and tight scheduling (for example Dakara, Hitori ja nai went through three vocalists before Ashley graciously got the job done). Anyway this is getting too long for what's supposed to be an exciting update post but we're still and as always thank you guys for all your support!  Instead of new summer songs we've been working on a set of TYER pick-ups that we should be announcing soon, and hopefully will be picking up more as they start near completion! As always, more coming real soon!
