The music poll winning video and my first time hearing Johnny Cash (I think? Maybe? Not sure). What an emotional song... loved every second of this one.

It's a cover of a Nine Inch Nails song, I generally dislike it when people say a cover is so much better than the original as I think it does a disservice to the artist that originally wrote and performed the song. But even Trent Reznor said he was born to write the song but Johnny was meant to sing it and it is now and will forever be Johnny Cash's song. I greatly appreciate the original NIN version, which is about Trent's struggle with heroin addiction. Johnny's take on the song is self reflection, looking back on the people he hurt and the regrets he had. It's his mother in the photo and his wife standing behind him on the stairs, his wife died a few weeks after it was released and Johnny died a couple of months later. When his daughter first saw the video she said to him “it’s like you are saying goodbye” he responded “I am”. It’s a heart breaking song and you're right it is a masterpiece.
