The rest of what I have for you are a bunch of side by side thumbnails -> final pages. I kinda thought it would be fun to revisit some scenes throughout the comic and show some of my goofy sloppy thumbnail drawings, plus show some of the changes I made in the process of drawing the final page. Idk if everyone will find this interesting but I always like to see stuff like this for comics so I thought some of you might too :))

In this early part, I think you can see how I was a bit uncertain about the character personalities, and how I was more rigid with the final artwork. On the last page, Will is grinning in panel 2, because I thought of him as a bit more of a scary version of Will; he was trying to scare Bev and enjoying it. But when I went to draw the final art, I just didn't see that characterization coming through in the text or his expressions up to that point, and it didn't really match the vibe of the rest of the comic. I COULD have drawn most of it with him being a bit sadistic to everyone around him, but I don't think we would have liked him as much.

I really had in mind here that in the canon, Beverly really likes Will; in this, she's worried about his magic corrupting her animal half, so she's more aggressive, but I still wanted her to like him in the end. It's the tiniest bit of foreshadowing that, like Alana, Bev is probably doomed to seek out the Deep Woods in the end. She's scared of magic because she feels drawn to it. Luckily she and Alana will both discover that it's not so bad in the Woods :))
