When I was posting the first pages of this on my nsfw blog some months ago, someone got real aggro at me about how submissive Hannibal was in it, and we hadn't even gotten to this shit yet haha...

Content warnings: alcoholism, sexuality crisis, explicit sex, violence/murder against others, cannibalism, a tiny bit of consensual violence, OOC, D/s vibes

I just love submissive Hannibal. In my opinion his submissiviness is character evolvement that started in S2 and reached it's most visible moment in canon Digestivo - with Hannibal surrendering himself to the police because of Will. (Even thou it was bot boys playing thier manipulative games, but still.) Anyway. I have loved these new unseen pages! <3

I honestly don't think submissive Hannibal is at all OOC? As Ina pointed out, there's a reasonable basis for it in canon, especially in how he is in Digestivo and arguably in Wrath of the Lamb. He accepts that Will intends to watch him die, saying "my compassion for you is inconvenient", and then he lets Will throw them off the cliff with no resistance. I absolutely think this is a potential reaction he would have to surviving and getting Will to himself. I don't know that he'd be submissive outside of his relationship with Will, but within it it seems very natural. I love this comic so much I'm kind of defensive of it sorry

Way too late, but I don't think him being passive is out of character. Contrary to the general opinion, I guess, I find it a disservice to the complexity of his character to make him authoritarian all the time when most of the time he's just like 'huh, guess that happened'. If these people had read the books too, a lot of it was stroke of luck and he got into some bad situations too. I mean, there is a reason he got caught, and it wasnt because he gave himself up, so.... you do you, booboo. Dont let people yuk your yum with their two-dimensional interpretation of characters.
