Prompt - LydiaFearing: Hannigram  If you're feeling soft, post-fall Christmas and Hannibal gives Will a puppy with a big bow. I mostly enjoy the idea of an overwhelming happy Will.

Prompt - Bucky Bear: Hannigram (SFW) -- Will for the first time seeing Hannibal growing a salt and pepper like beard and has him wear a very festive Santa outfit to match since "hoho Santa has a white beard!" , they could be cuddling and getting intimate by the warm fire while it snows heavy and Will can maybe be threading his fingers through Hannibals beard, fascinated or really digging how Hannibal rocks the silver fox look xP

Hannibal gets the dog because it's the perfect gift and he's a perfectionist. He narrows his choices to three on the adoption website, and when one is adopted by a couple who has created a monetized instagram account for the dog before they even choose him on the site, he swiftly extracts the dog from the home (as well as a little extra meat). He knows Will will appreciate the animal, will see his affection all over the gift, because Hannibal does little to disguise his affection these days, but he does not expect anything from it. After the Dragon, after the Fall, he feels Will pulling himself further away from him even as he is pulled inextricably closer. The more Will loves him, the harder he pushes back at him. Hannibal is certain there will be a boil over, and it will be violent, and he wants to hang on to what they have in the same moment that he wants to see how Will will end them...

So, when he quietly lets the new dog into Will's room Christmas morning and slips off to finish breakfast, he doesn't expect the way Will looks at him, when he arrives in the kitchen cradling the wriggling puppy, sleep-soft in a way Hannibal doesn't get to see, and he keeps looking at him, and keeps looking. Hannibal doesn't comment on Will carrying the dog to the table, and he doesn't expect the way Will reaches across the table and runs his fingers through the scruff of beard on his chin, unshaven since the Fall, mottled with gray.

"Santa has a white beard," Will says, smile crooked.

Hannibal never could predict him.
