Okay Malcolm hiding the ring the day before the wedding is… such a great detail and it’s so real I love it. And like… that push-and-pull where it’s Malcolm pushing Cole, Cole who’s been pushed around before but is standing his ground. It’s sweet, especially given the next page. Especially the, “you can do better,” “I don’t want to,” maybe it’s me just reading too much into it but it could have been an argument before or something Cole was working on with other things, giving up on himself too easily, but that’s not the case here and it’s almost like Malcolm is making sure that Cole isn’t just settling and is, in actuality, unhappy. Or I could just stop talking and just say that the last panel is such great blocking, with Malcolm just sitting there and AHHH LIke Kevin’s whole BODY LANGUAGE and POSTURE is so comedic and wonderful?? I really love your work when the subject is far away or small, because the little details you do put in count so much and it’s incredible.
