Hey all, very sorry for the late notice! I'm supposed to be working on doodles today but unfortunately I'm going to have to spend a little time dealing with this:

I'm not sure what the future of my public nsfw art looks like yet but I'm going to be spending some time backing it up again and exploring some options. Hopefully Patreon won't follow this example any time soon.

I'm so tired. Its the lj purge all over again. For what it's worth I like Pillowfort.io, they're nonprofit and allow nsfw but are currently swamped with new accounts. *exhausted sigh*

I'm seeing pillowfort recommended a lot so I'm going to look into it, although at this rate I doubt I'll get any of my handles ;w; But if they have post editing and url linking then they're already a step up from twitter so I'll at least give it a shot~

They've already skirted dangerously close before with the whole processors thing, and recently moving the payments to the UK was a side effect of it too, so if more and more big sites keep moving this direction I can't help but worry patreon will feel okay doing that too. In that case, I'll move to a censoring situation, but yeah, my backup was that I could always make a private tumblr....

A lot tumblr’s issues are that it relies on an algorithm set up with the Center for Missing and Exploited Children. But there’s always going to be new stuff getting past the code when CMEC hasn’t seen it to add it to the list of what needs shut down. Tumblrs response is incredibly extreme for such a nuanced issue and maybe with some time they can obtain a good middle ground

Since I wrote this, they've flagged a ton of non-adult posts for deletion across the site, including a lot of my sfw artworks, so even if they eventually reach a middle ground, they will have wiped out a lot of people's content in the process, so I doubt anyone will be there for it. I'm extremely done; I'll have to go through thousands of posts before the 17th to request reviews on everything that's not supposed to get deleted, while having to directly confront how many of my posts are going to get actually deleted. I support the desire to protect children but this is not an appropriate response to the situation.

Everything looks so dark lately for content creators. Let's hope Patreon will stay like it is... (Even if as you said in a comment, we never know how things will evolve... :/ )

but you and many others like yourself are not a cp artists or peddlers.. I sincerely love your work. I find it to be rather disgraceful to use that platform for such disgusting, demeaning, damaging, and all around deranged fucking content. (alliteration.. cool) I have always found your erotic storytelling to be very tasteful and compelling- if more artists were like you and had your work ethic .. I don't know.. this problem would not- might not- be happening??

I like Reaper's filthy smut as well as their storytelling, and encourage their right to do both. I'm not sure Reaper's naked Zapp Brannigan is tasteful or compelling, but I think the world is a little bit better for it existing. Like, just a little bit, but still that little bit.

I am sorry this is happening, though I expect I can't say much on the subject that isn't being said better elsewhere. I hope that when you move your art you can also find a way to preserve some of the interesting text posts and discussions from your NSFW blog as well. For example, I thought the post you wrote about whether your dubcon work is "right" to be thoughtful and interesting. Good luck with everything

I hope not, but like I explained above, Patreon has been going back and forth on nsfw content. They've gone to some pretty far lengths to keep it here, so I'm hoping that means they'll continue to try, but if the staff just get exhausted or if they sell the site to someone else then it could mean bad things.

Is AO3 an temporary option? I know it's more for fanfic, but some folks do load artwork there as well. Just throwing it out there as a temporary measure. It's a shame there isn't a platform like AO3 for art & blogs that protects the content creators like AO3 does.

Unfortunately Ao3 doesn't actually host images, so I still need to find a place to upload the images and link the urls from which is cool with adult stuff. But I am looking into that option, because I trust Ao3 to never go down without a fight :)
