Last month, I began a project of building large-scale forest maps with several POI (Points of Interest) that could easily be tied into a wide range of potential homebrew or Neverwinter Wood quests/adventures.

These Points of Interest may be a giant tree with a hole descending into its depths, a dry stream bed with several rocky holes and caves, a strange obelisk and other runed stones, large patches of fungii, huge nests, etc...

Each 1-2 months, my plan is to build another 160x160 square onto one of the sides of the map, extending it in that direction and including more POI's that could be combined into one large quest, or simply a forest that could be used and reused for many different adventures, based on where your party is going and what they need to achieve.

This is the newest square (160 x 160) of the map, and I've included maps of the new square, and of both squares (stitched together) that form the complete 320 x 160 forest.

The new POI's of this second 160 x 160 square are:

Small Lake. A small lake with an island, atop which rests a strange circular structure. I've created a token that reveals a tunnel, if the top is removed, and thought it could be the ruins of a crashed Citadel of Xinlenal or any other type of ruin.

Raised Ridge with Caves. Perfect for a pack of wolves, trolls or other creatures leaving beneath a large hill amongst the trees, this would be a great place for both an outside encounter, as well as a linked map to their lair inside.

Large Fungii Patch. Massive fungii have taken over this clearing, with a large mushroom sprouting in the middle that's nearly ten feet wide.

Dry Riverbed. More caves lurk amongst this dry riverbed, with a particularly large cave delving into the earth -- perhaps to link up with the tunnel found beneath the structure on the island.

Rocky Outcropping. A  series of tall boulders and stones linger about the wood, dark holes  leading into the earth below. Perhaps just the home of some woodland  animals, or perhaps the lair of a creature, or group of cultists. Better  explore it.

If you plan to use Neverwinter Wood in your campaign, what features would you like to see in future "squares" of the forest, which would link to this one?

Tier Rewards will be sent out shortly.

I hope you like it!
