Isle of Velkarta, NW Quadrant [50 x 44]

This  is the Northwest Quadrant of the Isle of Velkarta, a sequel to the  previous "Pirate Port of Velkarta" island map (already available) that  expands the island to the north of the port.

My  intention with the island was for the NW and SE quadrants to represent  wild/untamed/hostile areas of the island upon which adventures,  missions, social encounters or stories can be told in the wilderness of  the island. The SW quadrant is the Pirate Port and the NE quadrant will  be the Old Fort of the Pirate King/Queen.

The Northwest Quadrant is divided into two halves by a tall ridge:

The  eastern half contains a few rocky spires jutting from the ground, some  with holes delving below into water-filled caverns and tunnels as well  as small lake at the base of the cliff/ridge. Tales in town speak of a  hermit that lives at the far northern end of the island, a hunter that  lives alone and has earned the respect of the other tribe(s) operating  nearby.

The western half contains  an isolated tribe, insulated by geography (i.e. the ridge/cliff, large  rocks denying big boats, etc...), who operate out of a small village on a  series of tiny islands. The tribe could be human or humanoid, hostile  or peaceful -- it's up to you and how you might want to weave the story.

The  main idea with this map is to have the opportunity to set out from the  Pirate Port location and go on quests/missions/adventures on other parts  of the island, having social encounters, hunting down relics, finding  rare animals, reclaiming stolen property, whatever you wish to do.

I will be  working on the other [2] quadrants over time to create a full island, which will include the NE Quadrant (Fort of the Pirate King/Queen) and SE Quadrant, likely to have some form of volcano/jungle with a lot of wilderness space.
