Hoo boy!

Okay, so February has been all about the character editor. The visual side of building a character is nearly complete, and I've been chugging through a bunch of test characters just to put the editor through its paces. The next month or so will be focused on tying up loose ends with the editor, then experimenting with IK, which is the physics-based animation system I'll be using to pin characters into bondage poses, as well as position the player character's hands, dick, etc. in world space as you use toys/tools/gadgets.


In the full game, there will be a "quick start" menu where you'll select your species and some basic info about your character, then it will automatically create a starting character that you'll be able to tweak. Right now, that page doesn't exist, so you'll need to build your character from the ground up, which can be a little tedious. To help people play around, I'll be including save files with a bunch of pre-made characters that you can tinker with.


The editor also already has a little bit of limited mod support. You can import custom textures and custom hairstyles. I'll try to get some rough tutorials posted explaining how to do both before the package goes out.


Here's what you'll find in this month's package:


R2CK 0.0.3:

- You can now select hairstyles from the embellishments menu.

- You can now filter/search in the texture pattern selection menu.

- A whole bunch of new textures have been added.

- You can now choose from a variety of character head bases, including: bird, bovine, canine, cervine, equine, feline, lizard, mustelid, and rodent.

- Each head now has a handful of morph sliders you can tweak.

- Added some basic ear physics.

- Added a bunch of new character textures.

- Improved UI behavior at lower resolutions.

- Lower leg muscles now morph with body mass.

- You can now give your character wings - feathery or leathery. They have some basic animations and physics applied, but they are NOT finished. They will be restrained in most bondage setups, or completely hidden via pocket-dimension portal devices.

- Tweaked the game's rendering style a bit. New materials, better SSAO, better lighting.

- You can now customize your character's hands and feet.

- You now have free control over the camera while customizing your character.

- You can now customize your tail's appearance and behavior.

- You can now decorate your character with embellishments like antlers and tufts of fur. These embellishments will automatically blend in with your character's texture, or you can give them custom colors/gradients.

- Plantigrade animation support.

- Fixed some bugs related to the walking animation when entering character customization mode.

- Fixed camera clipping.

- While customizing your character, you can now snap to the center axis of a grid by holding CONTROL.

- When a localization phrase is missing, it will now show the English phrase, along with a warning that the phrase is missing, which you can click to view the localization document (and help fix it, maybe?

- Fixed up some font issues with Korean and Japanese localization support.

- Fixed a bug that would cause the game to lock up on the loading screen if you entered the game too quickly the first time you played each day. (Because the cache clears at midnight, and it didn't prevent you from accessing cached content even if it hadn't been loaded yet.)

- Added localization support for Slovenian and piratespeak.


BEDPLAY 1.0.1:

- A rough, slow, buggy Android build!

- The custom character template files for Bedplay, allowing you to make your own male and herm characters. (Female files are included, but not completely cleaned up.)


RACK 1.1.0:

- The latest mobile build for Android

- RackOPEN source code, so you can make your own modifications/additions to the game


MIDNIGHT FIREWORKS 1.4.1:

- A rough, slow, buggy Android build!

- Source code, so you can make your own modifications/additions to the game

So I take it we are just waiting for the "messages" for those who support you at 10 dollars or up to be sent out with the download links, or did I miss something? LOL, I'm overly anxious to see this in furson I guess. Just checking as Patreon has screwed up in the past and not sent things that the creators sent and what not... we've all been there I bet. Can't wait :D

Yep! Messages go out after patreon finishes processing payments each month, which is usually around the 3rd or 4th. So in a few days, you'll get an email with download links!

Yay! BTW, thanks for all the effort and hard work you are putting into this. This looks to be a very cool and extreamely fun thing here ;)... oh the "fun" that's going to be had by myself and I presume others... Now a multiplayer version? LMAO... that would be too much ... imagine the... "messes" it would create ;)... but that's going far and beyond the scope of the moment lol. Thanks for working on this and I can't wait to see what becomes of this.

Where can we post bugs and/or suggestions? My biggest suggestion would be to give the player the option to turn the shower water off and take on a neutral stance. It would make editing the character much easier.

Hey folks, I'm looking into the launch boss to try to figure out what's up. I suspect it's a combination of the game not installing files correctly, and the game keeping too many resources in memory. Doing a little optimization to try to tidy things up, expect an update soon! Also, send me your error logs files, if you have any!

Awesome, thank you! By the looks of it, the game failed to install some of the files it needs. I'm working on an update right now that might be able to automatically correct this bug. Keep an eye out for the update!

Weird, right? Definitely a strange bug. Curious to find out if it's something I can circumvent.

So apart from the game not working from another drive but can only run in the C:/ drive the game worked awesome. Got one crash cause the more your in game in character creator the game starts glitching, like with "junk" starting to react weird and bellies starting to vibrate really fast, the game overall is really stable. Can't wait to see whats next!

Great progress with the character editor. I do find that there are some glitches with higher graphics settings, though (I'm on Windows). Some of the graphics elements that "bounce" end up freaking out and starting to cover the entire screen (e.g. save files when you mouse over them, or the "use" boxes that pop up when you are near something you can interact with like the showers). Also, there are movement issues; for instance, if you stop walking, the player character ends up dancing back and forth over the spot where they should have stopped. And when trying to use the character editor, the character just walks in circles around the shower, without ever getting to the spot where the editor opens. My best guess is that these are numerical instabilities tied to the frame rate. If the frame rate drops too low, some of the moving elements that are supposed to "settle down" to a particular position, instead start to continually overshoot, then try to correct themselves and overshoot again, so that they end up doing something ridiculous.

Firstly, loving the char editor. Now, I know this is a dev. build at the moment, so what followes are just suggestions and things I would work on if this was my project. 1) lighting. It's gotten better, but I still have to turn my screen brightness all the way up and have the screen at just the right angle. In the lab there aren't any area lights at all. Perhaps add a reflection capture as well as some point lights??? Also, I'd put some spot lights in the shower area that only turn on during customization. That way you could see every thing you are working on. 2. Movement. The run/walk is reversed in my opinion. Default should be walk and holding shift should make you run. 3. The options menu. I have no access to any of the control panels. Now, weather this is a bug or because there is nothing there, I don't know, but I thought I'd mention it. 4. Laboratory. I know this is a dev build, but I'd like to see something in the lab(s) in the next release or two. Oh, and I had a thought. Would it be posable to add characters to the lab that the player created? Say I have char x,y, and z. Char x is in control. Would it be posable to load in char y and char z to experiment on? Just curious. It would be cool if you could. Also if you need help, I'd be more than willing to. Granted, it is in a different engine, but I do have 3D experience and surely the concepts are similar. Fek, you are amazing. I do a bit of story writing as a hobby and one thing I try to do with in game character editors like this is try to recreate those characters as I see them. Nothing has come as close as R2ck has. I love it.
