New year goal: Steam (Patreon)
Content
Thank you for everyone playing and supporting Tentacles Thrive. We couldn't get the crazy project this far without you.
I have set my new goal for the year, which is to complete the game and release it on Steam by the end of this year(+-3 months). I have been considering this for awhile, ever since Steam announced their welcome for adultish games. Even though we are certainly in a nicher market, but I feel like our quality is good enough for the platform, and may even have a chance to become more main stream! Your generous support will be used to complete the game, while new contents would hopefully be funded by Steam profits (if any). I have no idea how things will work out, but I want to give it a try anyway^^
There are many things that needed to be done properly before that can happen. All the UI/UX, clicking sounds, transitions animation, balances and bugs will need to be more professional done. Our scope on species will have to be adjusted a bit in order to meet the release date.
Animation:
- 73 battle animation
- 42+ mating scenes & sync voice
Graphical designs:
- 40+ territories
- 14+ species
- 20+ enemies
- 20+ 5th event graphics
Bonding events:
- 24+ species
Translations:
- 2 more languages (300k words)
Core features (it is hardest to estimate due to it changes based on players feedback):
- Crafting system
- Enemy AI (inside and outside of battle)
- Enemies capture and slave system
- Turn events feedback system (Journal)
- Weather, day/night, season system
- Endings and game+ system
- Various resources related features
- 60+ battle effects
- 40+ items
- 35+ benefits of all species
- 8+ crafts
- Continuous UI/UX improvement
- Revamp (optional)
Other project responsibilities will need to be handled as well, like sound & music, testing & debugging, technical/community support, project management, marketing, accounting, legal compliance etc. Schedule is tight due to the fact we have a more definitive deadline now, but I believe it is the better way to go, as a project prolonging too long can exhaust even the passionate ones. Better complete something, take a month of break and refresh the creative minds.
In order to achieve the goal, we need your support more than ever! As is, our current scope is more than a year of work, but I don't want to sacrifice quality. So I am going to shamelessly ask for all the help we can get, especially on proof-reading, marketing and community support.
