An elemental lord has broken through a rift in the planes, transporting the elemental chaos into the middle of a city. The instability caused multiple rifts to open to the other elemental planes, creating a clash of competing elements in a cataclysmic event. The city was utterly annihilated, encased in ice as an active volcano emerged in the middle. The winter court of the fey have discovered this elemental instability and have been  working to stop it, only to discover too late that the rifts were caused by a magical siege weapon that rips locations out of their native plane.
