I think my favourite part of that last scene is that it shows the major difference between Frank and Billy. Even though his wife and kids are gone, them having been a part of Frank’s life means they still ground him when he goes too far (which he did by starting that shootout in the street). Billy doesn’t really have that and never did in the past. I suppose now he has Krista to bring him back down to earth when he spirals, but she’s more of a band aid (as we see in this episode) because Billy might be too far gone by this point.

You can tell there’s way more to Krista based on how she’s attached herself to Billy and projects her own issues onto him. Her notes about him from earlier episodes (comparing him to the unknown person “KM”) suggests that her relating to her patients’ personalities is a pattern, it’s probably just been exacerbated due to Billy’s strong dependence on her compared to previous patients.
