You can see the attraction between Marie and Jordan starting earlier in the episode when they were arguing (after the 'coxplosion'). It was when Marie said "since when do you care about anyone not named Jordan?".

Why do you think Jordan keeps transforming between male and female when fighting. Is it unintentional, just the adrenaline? Or does transformingt help him regenerate / heal from wounds or injuries?

I think each gender has different abilities for them, something about that was said in a prior episode. Forget which abilities they were exactly though
