John getting buried in bodies always makes my breathing uneasy. It’s so claustrophobic

I'm going to hate when you finish! I get so excited following along with someone who's watching for the first time. It's the next best thing to getting the excitement that I had the first time I watched.

One of my favorite episodes of television. It was directed by Miguel Sapochnik, the guy who did Hardhome. The action is incredible but I think all the character interactions are just as good.

Your favourite until the next episode, trust me

Wait until the next episode!!! Dude!! Can’t wait to see your reaction on episode 10

So, is that the meme you said you saw online, Jon with the horses charging towdars him?

MovieFusion

Yes, it’s a GIF people always use on twitter and I always assumed it was from this show but wasn’t 100% certain

Jack's World

While this episode is stunning visually, after many a rewatch there are quite a few glaring issues with the writing & character decisions. Like Jon doing exactly what he said he wouldn’t do & getting pinned in, not keeping his temper & rushing after Rickon was “let go”, Sansa refraining from telling Jon about the Vail & their forces, etc. most of those things make our main characters seem BEYOND stupid & very unlike them in the past given how much growth they’ve had. As harsh as it was, Sansa was pretty much correct about never seeing Rickon again & accepting he would be killed before they could save him but Jon just couldn’t hear it sadly

Cannot wait for episode 10. My personal favourite TV episode EVER!

DP

Those aren’t glaring issues, they’re purposely done to prove Sansa right to push his trust of her forward. She warned him and he didn’t listen, bc of his emotions. Ramsey doesn’t have any, just bc u say you’re gonna do something doesn’t mean when the time comes and u have a chance to save your brother you’re gonna stick to it

i wouldn´t really go as far as to say it makes our main characters look stupid, if anything i think it just makes them look human. Also sansa knew jon wouldnt trust littlefinger after he set up the marriage between sansa and ramsey anyways so while she should have told him, it´s not some crazy farfetched thing that she didn´t. jon has always acted on emotion and what he thinks is right, and in that moment he thought trying to save rickon was the right and obvious thing, so sansas warning was forgotten about which is to be expected when your little brother who you haven´t seen in years´ life is at stake. during the planning scene jon even said that they do it for what it´s worth, so them having certain things planned does not automatically mean they will be followed through, especially from someone so desperate to save people as jon.

I can't watch this one enough times. At this point this is by far the best episode yet. The battle is so good you almost forget how insane the beginning of the episode is. Such a fitting death for Ramsey too. Man I can't wait for the next one. HURRY UP!!!! 🤣😅🤣

Jon didn't expect Ramsay to bring Rickon to the battlefield AND then let Rickon free to run to him. Jon saw a chance to save him and took it. Many people didn't like Sansa so much at the beginning of the series. She's received more sympathy and respect at this point. She has come a long way from that self centered little girl who was fawning over the beautiful blond haired psycho Joffrey to the woman she is now.

If you loved the music in this episode, I think you'll also really love it in the next episode. The audience had to wait almost 13 months between the season 6 finale and the season 7 premiere. Pure torture.
