Excellent. Now your getting to some amazing episodes. This one, Rains of Castamere and Blackwater are my 3 favorite episodes to this point.

Ian Mossner

Just like the Karl storyline, the Yara storyline is also completely made up filler for the show just to pad out the season. So that’s why nothing of consequence occurred during either of those storylines.

I think the crucifixion of the masters was just meant to show that Daenerys can be quite impulsive even if it’s from a good place. An investigation and trial should’ve taken place before any punishments were doled out to the masters. Because she’s staying in Meereen this is the first time she’s seeing what happens when she acts first and thinks later.

Tywin is so ignorant about the power of dragons. Aegon I Targaryen had fewer men than any King in Westeros, and he still conquered Westeros because he had access to 3 dragons.

The Tyrion speech was one of the most iconic moments of the series! Tywin had the whole trial so carefully scripted, to watch Tyrion tank the whole thing in a few minutes was just golden 😂

One of my favourites scene in this show. Peter Dinklage acting was amazing! "I've been on trial for that my entire life." hits hard

Andrew Clifton

Well yea he believes Danny's dragons are similar to the last living ones that were very small. Not as big as Balareon the dread or any from that time.

The scene with Yara trying to save Theon is just heartbreaking. Most of that stems from when Ramsey told Theon his sister sent him to help him and let him escape just to bring him back and do even worse things to him. Davos is a real smooth talker. You know dam well he couldn't leave empty handed with that look Stannis gave him lol. Jamie really tried but I can't blame Tyrion. It's hard for me to sit here at home and listen to Shae say those things so I can imagine how he felt. That end of the trial is one of my favorite scenes in any show ever. Near perfect episode.

Halima

The council was informed in an earlier episode that dragons are growing though, so he should know that at the very least they’re bigger than the last dragons

bit of a random fact that they don’t explore too much in the show and thought i could mention since you sort of like the politics is that the tyrells and other lords in the reach absolutely HATE the martells and the dornish in general and the dornish hate them. they’ve been enemies for a long time because their kingdoms border one another and the reach lords, and the lords from the stormlands too since they also share a border with dorne, have dealt with the dornish incursions for a very long time. that’s why mace tyrell was fairly rude to oberyn in the small council meeting. also i don’t think mace knew about olenna murdering joffrey. he’s definitely umm, kind of dense is the nicest way i can say it. i don’t think olenna thought he could be trusted! the end of tyrion’s trial gives me chills every time too, book and show. peter dinklage is amazing.

Karl Tanner was based on Clubfoot Karl from the books. They had him kill the lord commander bc Dirk (Who kills him in the books) isn't in the show. That scene actually played out very similar to the show in the books. Yara is Asha in the books but you are right her story is quite different. Still a great storyline in the show. There are things in the show that aren't in the books that are still great and vice versa.

Arthur Fields

Tywin does know the power of dragons. He also knows that when Aegon Targaryen attacked Dorne with his dragons, Dorne was able to resist. Remember, that's the reason Tywin is being so nice to Oberyn. He's hoping Oberyn and Dorne will come to his aid if there is a dragon attack.

Halima

I don’t really believe that because Tywin has no reason to think they would be able to help him with Dany and her dragons. The Dornish couldn’t do anything to protect the other six Kingdoms, they were barely able to protect themselves from Aegon. Tywin is just greatly underestimating Daenerys which is to be expected when you’ve had so much power for so long. He underestimated Tyrion’s spite in this episode, much like he underestimated Olenna (and Baelish) in previous episodes.

Ian Mossner

I meant specifically for this season. Karl taking bran and the Reed siblings hostage was the filler part.

Andrew Clifton

He still doesn't know how big though. And he shows obvious concern about her but he knows it will be some time before he has to deal with it. Too many now problems to deal with first. I'll come back to this later bc I can't say anymore without spoilers.

Halima

not at all! 😂 he's probably in my top 5 characters and arguably one of the most intelligent characters on the show – I just think he has flaws like the other characters, and arrogance is his biggest one.

I certainly could feel the denseness from Mace not gonna lie lmaoo... and that is all good context to have, thank you for letting me know!
