(There's a TL;DR at the end)

Hi patrons!

There will be the weekly recap tomorrow but I still wanted to tell you about what I've been up to the last few days!

I've been porting my LudumDare #37 Pico-8 game One Room Dungeon to Love2D! The reason I'm doing this is of course to make the game much bigger and better and make it a few-months project that would hopefully end up profitable!

About 95% of the code was successfully ported so far, thanks to the Pico-8-inspired interface structure I had made for Blast Flock. The graphics are all in there, but the sound is missing for now. (it takes longer to export from Pico-8)

Right now, you could play the game up to the boss battle or until you die and then you'd have to restart the game but apart from that, the experience is exactly the same.

I'm planning to port the rest of the game this week and then restructure the code a lot because I literally just took the p8 code, put it in a .lua file and modified it so it works with my framework. (I also had to implement new systems into the framework and enhance old ones)

I've also started thinking about distribution and I think it'd be cool to do an early access through itch.io and all patrons could get it somehow. So you would be able to try out the game as the (weekly-ish) updates roll out, give feedback if you have any and also maybe it would encourage more people to support me here on Patreon!

More info on all that and more in the weekly recap tomorrow!

TL;DR: I'm porting One Room Dungeon to Love2D to make it bigger and better over a few months. I'm almost done porting all of the base game. I'd like to do an early-access kind of thing and all patrons would get access to it!

Thanks for reading, have a good one!
