Hello!

Here is the recap of the week #43 of my indie dev adventures!

>> trasevoldog.wordpress.com/2017/02/20/week-43-dogfighting-and-doodle-live-streaming/

In it I wrote about the game and why it's not done yet and about live-streaming!

Enjoy!

Thanks for the update! I know I can get frustrated with myself when I don't finish something as fast as I expected to. Hopefully you have a healthy attitude towards it. Estimating how long something is going to take is something I'm really bad at, and many other game developers struggle with this too. I was encouraged by Joel's post-mortem for Prune. http://www.gamasutra.com/view/news/264930/Postmortem_Joel_McDonalds_Prune.php It took him over a year, when he originally thought it would be done in a couple months.

I remember reading that post-mortem when it got on the Gamasutra front page! :D Yeah scoping is a difficult skill. I think doing gamejams helps, but only to a certain extent. Scoping for a one week game is very different than scoping for a game you want to do over several months. And that latter case is the one struggle the most with. I also agree with Joel on the fact that external deadlines are super great at forcing you to work, which imo is why gamejams are so great.
