Hi patrons!

I have a couple of things to tell you today!

First off, the gif you are seeing up there is the game I'm making for the contract I told you about in the last weekly recap!

The game will be an iOS game where you have to make rockets from space fall on the right places by rotating the earth (currently placeholded by a haywire sphere) and the whole scene.

The game is being made in Unity which, if you've been following me for a long time you may know this, I hate. My problem with Unity is that you can't have simple things. Seriously, drawing just a line requires more steps than drawing a 3D object, and that's just one example. It makes me mad, it really does. But on the other hand, I was taught to use Unity in school, so I'm doing pretty alright with it. Besides it's good to do things you don't like doing once in a while. Especially when it's the easiest option you have to produce an iOS game which will bring you contract money.

Anyway, another fun part of this is that I do not own any iOS device myself! Maybe I will get one by the end of this contract but meanwhile, it's a pretty interesting challenge.

The first few days have been spent taming Unity and getting it to draw what I wanted and the way I wanted it. I'm finally getting there so I started getting into the gameplay. Current priorities are core gameplay, game UI and replacing placeholders.

I'll keep you updated on this project in patrons-only posts because it's interesting and I'm not entirely sure how much I'm supposed to say about it. (I don't see the harm in telling you though)

Second thing is the Doodle Insights about logic data generation! It's not up yet! Why? Because I'm busy with the contract, it's too hot to work as much as I'd like and I did not get started on the Doodle Insights yet.

I actually want to work some more on my Pico-8 implementation of the Wave Function Collapse first, which also takes time. You can watch some gifs of it in action over there!

So what I will do is that I'll make a double Doodle Insights which will count for both this week and the next. It'll be longer of course and I will talk more extensively about the Wave Function Collapse, how it works, why and what it's good for! (it's good for a lot of things) The longer Doodle Insights which came with Lands of Yocta got a lot of appreciation so I hope you'll like this one as well!

I will try to write it this week-end or at least most of it and then I'll edit it and publish it in the beginning of next week probably.

Third thing is that my PO-20 is coming in on Friday which is way sooner than I expected it! So expect some from that this week-end as well!

Thank you all for your support!

Don't forget to vote for what I should do about the June goal being reached!

Take care!
