Chapter 168 The Nomads

Sharn was not unattractive for an orc. Although my entire perception of attractiveness was changing the longer I was an incubus.  Her naked body reminded me of an amateur weightlifter.  She had nice feminine curves.  I had even become accustomed to the orc face with tusks.  Her scars added character to her middle-aged body.  This was not meant to be a romantic coupling.  It was Sharn submitting to my authority.  I moved forward.

Sharn grunted in surprise as I entered her.  I had sized down to my human size, guessing her comfortable girth, but I still overestimated.  She quickly got accustomed to it, and I did not need to alter myself.  The depth also seemed to surprise her as I got all eight inches inside.  She reflexively squeezed down on my shaft.  Her inner muscles were strong, something that orc women apparently had naturally.  Aunt Amelia was the only human that matched the feeling.  It was pleasurable for me as it caused pressure when I entered and retreated with every thrust.

I gripped her muscled glutes to pull her into me as I thrust toward her repeatedly.  My incubus body savored, controlling the pale orc’s body beneath me.  My incubus tail tried to join the fun by seeking Sharn’s other hole, but I forced it away. Instead, the appendage took to rubbing Sharn’s clitoris after being rebuffed by me. I really did need to get more control over the appendage in this form.

This reminded me of Tevega, but whereas Gundella had forced her daughter to be mated by me, Sharn was volunteering herself.  I don’t know what she expected from my efforts, but I already had the tier two saliva working on her.  With her skin heated from the sunburn and the heat of her arousal, she was emanating a strong feminine musk.  My incubus sense of smell associated it with candied cranberries, both tart and sweet.

Her clan watched as I worked Sharn in front of them.  She let out her first moan of pleasure, not able to fight her body’s euphorification by the saliva.  As with many of my sexual encounters, I had a job to do.  I focused on her core as I stimulated her to a powerful orgasm.  It hit her suddenly and unexpectedly.  She collapsed forward in surprise as her legs gave out.  I followed her to the sand and did not stop, driving my hips into hers.

I bit her shoulder like a dog dominating a bitch and released more saliva.  She tried to struggle to her knees after the wave of pleasure passed, and she regained control of her legs, but I would not let her, pressing her into the sandy roots.  The saliva soon had her peak again, and I got more aggressive, pounding her into the ground while making eye contact with Glasha.

Sharn’s daughter watched, fascinated, as I forced her mother to one pleasurable peak after another.  She couldn’t look away.  Being in my incubus form, my vortex and lust aura became stronger, and Sharn’s core quickly expanded.  Being on the brink of my own pleasure from the sex was too much.  I gave in, released the elixir of quickness into Sharn, and paused in my domination of her.  She was panting underneath me and flexed her thighs, which squeezed my shaft as my incubus sac tightened and delivered the elixir of the constitution to Sharn.

It was selfish of me to decide what to give her, but constitution would increase her recovery speed and lengthen her life span.  I also was not done as I reset my vortex and continued entering her.  Sharn had thought I had finished and tried to get up.  I held her down as I started anew.  I was watching her core as I worked this time.  I was more businesslike, using my aphrodisiac salvia and my phallus.  Although Sharn continued to squeeze my phallus, her vaginal wall intensity had ebbed with the exhaustion her body was showing.  I brought her to her final release and then matched it with a release of my own, this time giving her the quickness elixir.

I sat up on her hips, keeping her pinned, and rubbed her shoulders in a slow massage in appreciation of her muscled shoulders while making eye contact with Glasha again.  She was young, but my incubus body was hungering for a fresh…I got control of myself.  I reverted to my human form and stood over Sharn, who remained prone.  I had almost been swept up in my own carnal lust.  My incubus form had once again shown it had primal instincts it wanted me to fulfill.  My mind space constructs were supposed to protect me from this overcoming me.

I dressed and let Sharn collect herself.  I quickly checked her core before returning the reader to my dimensional space.  I sat near Bedelia and Aurora and slowly shook my head.  I gained power from sex and lust, but I sought a more emotional connection with my partner.  Since coming to Mercanious, I have felt more and more hollow, no matter how much sex improved my power.  I would prefer to be back on Earth at the cabin with everyone else and living the faux life of a teenager.

Aurora said with some snark, “Very primal of you.  I think she enjoyed it.”

I almost snapped angrily at her but just exhaled slowly.  “She is much stronger now.  When she recovers, she will learn how much.”

“How did her core enhancement go, Caleb?” Bedelia asked from on top of her bedroll.

“Slightly better than normal.  About a 0.7 increase.  If Sharn does not betray me, she will be a valuable bodyguard next to Artica,” I stated.  Sharn’s core was now 1.32.  Once she recovered from the session, she could even take another physical enhancement. She was stronger than Artica, who was 1.02, but they were in the same tier.

“Not as strong as me,” Aurora noted with a satisfied and smug look as her core was 1.66.  “Did you get a good harvest as well?” She studied me interested.

“Yes. I have not checked, but it should be over two hundred life essence. I should have gotten some aether as well. We should be able to travel tomorrow or the day after to the next layer,” I said, reflecting on my gains. Keep watch for us Aurora, I am headed into my mind space.

I entered the pedestal room and looked at the banner. I did have over two hundred life essence, I was at a comfortable 249. My aether core was only at 510/1000 aether, though. I wanted to max out the aether before traveling to the next layer. I walked to the library to find out what was going on with my willpower.

As soon as I entered, Lilith pointed at Pandora, who pointed at Casper, who was trying to hide behind a chair. “What does that mean? Why are you pointing at each other?”

Pandora explained, “Well, we were focused on deciphering the books you added here. We kind of left Casper on guard of your mind while you were added to your harem.”

“I am not making a harem,” I stated flatly.

Pandora rolled her eyes at me, “Sure, whatever. Enjoying the locals company, then. Well, Casper was watching you on the feed you gave us, and his excitement must have bled over to you. It is not like you did not enjoy it. His alpha wolf personality is a good match for your incubus body.”

Casper was still hiding and appeared afraid. “Don’t worry, Casper, it was not your fault. I will not erase you from here.” The massive white wolf stood and slowly started wagging his tail.

Nashima grinned at me in her human form, “I don’t think any of us were actually worried about that. We do not have much of anything new to offer you.”

Lilith held up her hand to speak, “I did find a reference in one of the books you copied. It is a ritual you are somewhat familiar with. It involves rupturing a person’s core to enlarge it. The ice orcs used it to create powerful shamans from weak ones, but it rarely succeeded. The success rate was two in three hundred and twenty-two. They stopped trying it because they were killing off all their children with stronger aether cores.”

“Really? How does it work?” I asked, interested in what the orcs did.

“It is basically the same thing you do with your ability. Thirteen shamans circle the hopeful. They force aether into the core of the target until it expands. However, you have your vortex to control the expansion, and they just force aether into the core until it shatters. Then, all thirteen shamans form a faux core until the target heals their aether shell. It takes weeks, and the shaman usually exhausts themselves, or the individual never heals their shell.”

I thought, for a moment, “So, it is like what happened with Carrie?”

Lilith agreed, “A lot cruder, and you have more aether than a hundred shamans. But yes, similar.”

Nashima added, “Also, you did not destroy her shell. Carrie’s core was destabilizing and rupturing, so it had much less to heal.”

“Well, good to know,” I said. I sensed they wanted to add something. “What else?”

“I thought you would have realized that you could use this method to raise someone’s core again,” Lilith said, cocking her head.

“Not if it puts the person at risk. Carrie was a mistake,” I stated firmly.

Lillith was not done and pressed, “You have those in your—household—that are not as powerful as the others. They may want to explore this option.”

“Iris,” Pandora added cheerfully.

“Absolutely not!” I bellowed at them. Lilith cocked her eyebrow but said nothing. Pandora wisely said nothing either, but she held a small smirk. They knew what I knew.  In time, maybe years down the line, I would tell Iris about this and let her decide.

I left them in the library and went to the barrier to spend my life essence. I selected two abilities on Lilith’s list.

Incubus Tail

Upper

Tier 1

100 life essence

Discern Truth

Lower

Tier 1

100 life essence

I invested the life essence to raise them.

Incubus Tail

Lower

Tier 2

200 life essence

Discern Truth

Upper

Tier 1

200 life essence

The stronger my discern truth ability was, the more useful it would be against beings with stronger resistances and aether cores. The incubus tail enhancement gave me more control over my tail. I needed the control as the tail seemed to still have a mind of its own in my incubus form.

More importantly, I was now at 400 cap for my life essence. Now that I could store 400 life essence, I would be able to advance certain abilities to lower tier three, a monumental jump in strength if I understood everything.

I was excited as I exited my mind space and returned my awareness to the oasis. Nothing had changed, and I acknowledged to Aurora that I had returned. The heat of the day was coming, but the oasis had shade. Sharn was eating near the pool, and I could already see her skin turning from pink back to its pale white color. The constitution enhancement was taking effect.

The Molten Fist Clan had set up a complete camp, and the old orc, Raguk, was directing everyone as Sharn rested. They had started a small fire to prepare for the cold night. Toward evening, Sharn walked over to me and bowed. She looked much healthier, “Thank you for sharing your power.  Lord Caleb, do you wish for the Molten Fist to scout?”

Puzzled, I looked up at her.  “We are in the middle of dessert, Sharn. I did not see anything close when I flew yesterday.”

“Others have used this oasis in the past. Maybe smoke from our fire will draw others. Maybe dangerous creatures roam the desert.  If we are to serve you, Lord Caleb, it starts with protecting you,” Sharn said sincerely.

I sighed as I was the best person to scout, and it would just take me minutes. The Molten Fist orcs were recovering but still needed more time. They had impressed me greatly with their fortitude on the trek here. I was guessing that was why Sharn waited till close to sunset. I stood, “I am going to scout and see what is at the other sites nearby. Remain in the oasis.”

Sharn bowed again appreciatively.  Bedelia spoke up, “Are you going to search for Sofiel?”

“No. If she is preparing to threaten us, I hope to be gone before she can bring others to interfere. I just need to harvest more aether,” I looked at the three suggestively.

Aurora sighed humorously, “Guess it is my turn to sacrifice my body to the Demon Lord.”

Sharn offered earnestly, “I can send you Glasha or Ghorza if you wish, Lord Caleb.”

“No, Sharn. They must make the choice themselves, and Ghorza is too young.” I looked at Bedelia, “You explain it to her.”

I transformed into my incubus body and took to the air. I immediately noticed I had better awareness of my tail. It was like another limb now, but I frowned as I only had a modicum of control over it. I sighed as I would have to invest more life essence if I wanted complete control.

The sun was on the horizon and would be gone soon. I circled out five miles and did not see anything in the sand. I checked the oasis with the stone wall surrounding the well and landed there. There was no one here, but I could smell something foul.

I wandered, following my nose, and twenty yards outside the wall was a pit for waste.  It was not fresh but not old either. I guessed someone might have been here to get water from this well in the past month. This discovery made me want to explore the other sites I could see in the distance from the air. The stars were coming out as the sun had disappeared. My abyssal site could tell three of the stars were faraway planets.

I let darkness fall before taking to the air. If there were people at the other sites, it would be better if they could not see me. In the darkness, I took flight and headed toward the next black spot in the sand I noticed. This was just the edge of a massive rock.

I landed on it, and it made a hollow sound as my heavy body landed. Not a rock then—I knocked on it and found it was metal, and my abyssal smell picked up the metallic notes in the air. Was this a massive shelter? It was over two hundred yards across and slightly rounded. I walked the metal curiously and noticed faint seams and scars that looked like melted metal.

A ship? A spaceship? I got excited as I looked for an entrance above the sand. I found some stress cracks and small craters with tiny holes. I guessed exterior modules had been mounted here. It was definitely a spaceship that had crashed in this desert and must have been massive. I would have liked to explore, but I had probably been away for too long already.

I took to the sky and planned to return but noticed light a distance away, far from our oasis, but I thought I should check it out anyway. I headed in the direction of the lights, staying a mile above the desert. The lights were a slow-moving line of vehicles. Massive tires rolled on the sand, and headlights were the source of the light I had noticed. Five large vehicles in all, and they all sported solar panels on the roof and made no engine noise. I guessed they charged them in the day and traveled at night.

I judged by their direction they were headed toward the well and not our oasis, but that would put them just thirty miles from us. I came up on the last vehicle flying and carefully looked inside one of the windows. It looked like a kitchen and bedroom together. Three double bunks along one wall with bodies sleeping in three of them. A human woman wearing off-white clothes, walked from the forward compartment, and I darted into the sky as she looked my way.

It was a group of nomads. If they wandered from water source to water source, then they might stop at our oasis next. The humans and orcs on this planet were at war, so there could be conflict. I returned to my group. Bedelia was relieved to see me, “Caleb, did you find anything interesting?”

“Just a massive crashed spaceship and four transports carrying some wandering nomads,” I said casually. Bedelia gaped at me.

Sharn was close by and asked, “Are the nomads a threat?”

“They are human.” I considered my options, “I think I am going to wait at the well they are headed toward and meet them. I know the humans on this planet do not like orks, so if they plan to stop here, there could be a fight.”

“We are ready, Lord Caleb,” Sharn responded.

“I prefer if we didn’t have to kill people. We are going to be leaving in two days anyway,” I stated.

“Take Bedelia and me with you,” Aurora said, grabbing my arm.

I removed her hand, “No. I will be fine. It is just humans.” I left before there could be any more of an argument. I landed at the well, removed camping gear from my mind space, and set up. If these nomads treated me poorly, I might have to kill them.

It was approaching morning when I heard the electric monstrosities coming. The sand spooling on the wheels. The four vehicles were parked in a line around the perimeter, and I heard the people getting out. I had my charm for translating speech, and I was ready to meet my first people of the twenty-second layer.

Given Caleb’s awesome impulse control, I’m betting the conversation with Iris happens about two chapters after he gets back to Earth. 😀
