With this mod you can work as Archaeologist, take assignments any time you want, go to Selvadorada any time you want and don't worry about days off limit (cause as a freelancer you simply don't have "days off" as such, you work - you earn, you don't work - you don't earn ;) )

This mod turned out to be quite difficult to make, because of career gig system that I had to understand! Each time I thought I already got it, I was finding out other dependency and issues. But finally there it is. A mod that my mum asked me for few months back :) Was ready almost for Mothers Day (in Poland it was yesterday). :)

There are 3 museums that you can choose as your employer:

- Simsonian Museum of Natural History - for base game players mostly (doesn't require any expansion)

- Selvadoradian Museum of History and Culture - for those who have Jungle Adventure

- Treasures of Sulani Museum - for those who have Island Living (assigments include also the ones for base game).

This career works as other freelancer careers. For example there are 20 various assignments to choose from for Selvadoradian Museum - of course there is no guarantee which one will appear on your list on the given day - this is random.

With salaries for tasks with necessary trip to Selvadorada I tried to take into account the rent price and equipment, but the assigment might not be profitable in certain situations (e.g. when value of treasure is higher than salary from assignment) - but I hope it will be very rare case.

I tried to make gameplay for basegame players meaningful - so 20 new interactions were created to make it possible.

2 files were modified for this mod to work:

  • drama_scheduler.drama_enums (85CBDF0FEA68BBB9)
  • drama_scheduler.drama_scheduler (9F853D9F64B17368)

If any other mod modifies it - mods will conflict. In such case - inform me, so I could adjust my mod.

Also there is quite high chance that I will need to update this mod (those 2 files specifically) when new pack is released (it should not cause problems to me to update it - just for your attention that there is this risk).

For the mod to work you need also XML injector (the current version).

  • Added separeted menu (within Friendly category) for all interactions related to career
  • Fixed time for showing up new gigs (I finally found which piece of code is responsible for this time :D ) Now you should get some gigs available all the time - sometimes more, sometimes less, but generally there will be always something to choose from.
  • Fixes of few gigs, objectives etc.

25/07/2021 - update for July 20th patch. This patch broke assignment picker button so for the time being until EA fixes it - use phone to pick or cancel assignment.

I really can't thank you enough for this mod! It has really opened up a lot of fun with the game for me!

I just downloaded today and I can't see a list of gigs to choose from (the list is just empty). Am I missing something?

Maybe give it a time in the game - there can be a moment in Sim day when list is empty and then new assignments show up (the longest it took for me was 2 Sim day for new assignments to show up). If it doesn't work, try to download again. I am quite distracted now, so it's also possible that I didn't replace before the mod (now I reuploaded it just in case).
