April ate up her steak with giddy delight and murmurs of approval. Having not eaten meat in over a decade she felt such a rush,  almost as intoxicated by the fresh slab of flesh as the steady flow of gin.  No one would have to know, she thought to herself, still oblivious to the curious glances from across the bar. Occasionally she would pause her ravenous feasting to wipe a little juice from her lips, but she couldn't resist licking the her fingers clean afterwards.  She'd really been missing out all these years.

Her mouth tingled as she ate, her teeth creaking and clicking inside her head.  It felt like a tooth being pulled under anesthetic, no pain, just the distant sensation of something shifting.  Unbeknownst to Ms O'Neil, her canines were gradually forming into chiseled points, far more suited to tearing meat.  She was barely chewing anymore, slugging back the last of her steak with a satisfied purr.
