Hi all! Back with part/chapter 5 of The Statue. On the edit, I'll probably swap around some sections between four and five since they're all one contiguous scene. As I was writing it, breaking it up seemed like a better idea since there's quite a lot of spice per page so not a lot of up and down in tension/release terms.

Had a mild scare after rebuilding my computer. My main drive, where all my writing is stored, wasn't being picked up by the new motherboard. Spent quite a while holding back a panic as I worked out the problem which turned out to be that...I forgot to plug in the SATA cable. Why didn't I check that first? Well because it was fiddly to get at and I couldn't have possibly made such a simple mistake, of course.
