Author's Note: This should go without saying, but I'll say it anyway. This is not turning into an NTR/cuckold story. Saying it sort of defeats the purpose of these chapters and it's like saying that the main character of an action series won't die in the next battle, but I'm aware it's different in erotica.

Chapter 336: Intermission - Jealousy.

Julian Jenkins slammed the door close as he entered his bedroom and sank on his big, orange and black desk chair that resembled the seat of a racing car. He turned on his PC not out of desire to do anything with it, but out of habit. The many blue and purple lights of the PC tower lit up the underside of his large wooden desk and his three monitors quickly turned on to show the desktop with background images of the latest war shooting game that had come out.

Deciding that his chair was too uncomfortable, he clicked his tongue and threw himself on his double bed, face down. Of course, with his face on the mattress, he couldn’t breath well and his nose was bending, so he moved to lay on his side. His eyes landed on one of his poster-filled walls. DIO, Judas Priest, Metallica, Iron Maiden… All posters he was given, of bands he said he liked but only knew like two songs from each. Looking at them pissed him off, so he took the remote and aimed it at the 55’’ TV in front of his bed, but decided against turning it on in the end. Looking at the TV also put his three electric guitars into view. He wanted to see those even less, so he turned his gaze towards the ceiling.

His mind replayed a myriad of events seemingly at the same time. Oliver, the gloomy nerd, walking around with Thomas Pierce, one of the most popular guys in school; Oliver walking around with Milana, Grace and Sarah, three of the hottest girls in school; hearing the revelation that the loser was, in fact, dating those three at the same time and AND dating Alice Knight and Noelle Summers, two other school bombshells; Oliver playing the guitar back in freshman year in front of everyone in the music club, getting praised by their teacher and completely outstaging Julian; Oliver playing the bass, an instrument he apparently had only just picked up, in front of his class and getting everyone to join in; that guy, that loser, socially inept nerd, DARING to stand up to him and threaten him; and from just from earlier that day, everyone easily believing that he was incapable of doing anything wrong instead of believing that he could be a cheating scumbag. That piece of shit was also going to participate in the reborn talent show… and steal all that was Julian’s again!

He looked at the media cabinet below his TV, considering if playing any of his three consoles would make for a decent distraction, but he didn’t even feel like standing up to grab the controllers.

Instead, Julian felt an urge. An urge he knew he should resist, as giving in would only piss him off even more. Regardless, he took out his phone from his pocket and opened up his social media.

Most people from his school were posting and commenting on said post talking either about how lame or how good it was that the Oliver drama turned out to be a dud. Julian had expected it to take deeper roots, but it was true that, if those girls didn’t bite, no one else would, either. Everyone knew Grace would likely have the guy hanging by the balls if he had cheated.

Who was the one that took back the rumors, though? Abigail? No, it was probably Eric. The guy was a real pushover, and this time it worked against him.

As he scrolled down his feed, he saw something that cheered him up a bit. A selfie of Milana from above, wearing a tight tank top under a black jacket as she held a can of some energy drink. Fuck, she was so damn hot. Julian had been crushing on her for a full year now, but the girl never answered his flirting.

He clicked on her profile, ready to rub one out to more pictures of her. However, what he saw was… cat pictures. A white and orange cat playing around, laying on a bed, chasing a toy… Jumping on Oliver’s lap.

His chest tightened with anger. So it was Oliver’s cat and Milana was taking pictures of it, probably while at his house.

He couldn’t stop himself from thinking about it. Oliver was surely fucking that goddess every day. He was making out with her, and having her suck on his (likely very tiny) dick.

His chest began to hurt even more. Why? Why did that son of a bitch have everything that Julian wanted? Popular friends, hot girlfriends, and worst of all…

Julian clicked on another video Milana had uploaded. Oliver was there, sitting on a bed with a guitar on his lap. It was a new guitar, Julian noticed. Not that old, cheap one he brought to school back in freshman year. Grace, Noelle and Milana were at the edges of the frame.

Oliver began to play, and Julian’s heart froze when he heard it. The solo to Free Bird, played so stupidly close to the original that the few, small differences only helped to confirm that he was indeed playing it himself instead of having the real song playing over it.

Though Julian didn’t want to admit it, and wouldn’t to anyone, he still knew how fucking hard it was to play that solo, or at least making it sound properly. He knew because he’d tried to learn it… and gave up.

Julian gripped his phone tightly, so much so that his hand shook. He threw his phone to the floor, the carpet saving it from breaking. He gritted his teeth and glared at his guitars, cursing them.

Why did HE have the skills to play and not Julian? Why did the women flock over to HIM and not Julian? Why did people jump to defend him instead of Julian? Oliver was given everything and didn’t deserve it! He didn’t!

Maybe his anger, frustration and tension was making him tired. He also began to feel dizzy all of a sudden. Slowly, Julian’s eyelids began to fall, his body began to relax, his thoughts began to drift away. And yet the feeling remained. A strong, overwhelming feeling.

‘I want everything that he has.’

Chapter 337: Intermission - Envy.

His kind was extremely rare, even by supernatural standards. Humans have their tales about them, the most common ones depicting them as envious entities who seek to steal someone’s place in life for themselves. Doppelgangers, doubles, they called them. He was a spirit born from such a creature.

He had forgotten his own name already, having spent many years pretending to be other people. This was back when he still had a body, and it was originally done for the sake of survival. With time, however, as he jumped from life to life, he began to resent those who had more than him, who were happier and lived more comfortably than him. He made them the target of his new life.

After becoming a spirit, most of his worries faded. He didn’t have to worry about his pursuers, didn’t need to worry about being found out, didn’t need to worry about food or shelter. The only thing he needed was a host, a human in which to live. But a lifetime of envy leaves its mark.

For spirits like him, the only sustenance they need comes in the form of energy born from the human mind. In his case, what he needed was energy born from the excitement and fulfillment of taking what was someone else’s. The more his host desires said things, the sweeter the energy that fed him. Yes, a Spirit of Envy thrives when their host wishes for something that belongs to another and takes it for themselves.

That this Spirit of Envy found Julian Jenkins was no coincidence. He had been patiently observing him for the last month. After all, the boy was very close to the perfect state of emotional weakness he needed to possess him. All that was left was a single, strong enough event to open him up. Several came in succession, and the Spirit of Envy got his chance.

He infiltrated Julian’s mind. He saw the desires of his heart and mirrored them to him in the form of dreams. The boy wanted a certain other’s popularity, so he showed him dreams of himself surrounded by many close friends. The boy wanted wanted a certain other’s women, so he showed him dreams of passionate lovemaking while surrounded by their erotic bodies. The boy wanted a certain other’s artistic skills, so he showed him dreams of performance success. Then, as the boy felt fulfillment in his heart, the spirit took it all away in an instant.

“You want this, correct? You want his friends, his women, his skills. You can have it. All you have to do is take it. They will believe you are him, they will come to trust you, and as they do, you will take everything. Be patient, be subtle. In time, you will claim everything he owns and everything that he is.”

Julian smirked in his sleep, excited for a new day to come.

That morning, he woke up feeling refreshed. His body felt somehow lighter. When he went to the bathroom and looked at himself in the mirror, he was startled and shocked. For a moment, he didn’t see himself there, but saw the very image of Oliver Brooks. The wavy black hair, the gray eyes, the broad shoulders and toned arms. Julian blinked and saw himself again, the blonde and handsome Julian Jenkins.

Slowly, he began to understand what was happening as the Spirit of Envy whispered in his mind. It was an illusion, but a powerful and convincing one. When he wanted to, others would see him as Oliver instead of Julian. They would hear his voice and be convinced they were in the presence of Oliver Brooks.

To Julian, this all came as sudden knowledge. He didn’t understand why he was capable of this clearly supernatural ability, nor why he understood it, but he felt… excited. He laughed in his bathroom, hands on his face as if to try and hold back the giddiness.

His mind immediately went to someone in particular. Milana. Yes, she would be the first one he would steal. He would shower her with affection, kiss her deeply and make love to her in ways her boyfriend never could, and then she would realize it was Julian all along and chose him instead!

That last thought was accompanied by a faint but sharp headache. It was short, and so Julian paid it no mind. He didn’t realize it was a warning from the spirit, a message telling him to be patient.

Excited for what the day had ahead of him, Julian drove his car to school far earlier than usual. He was used to getting there with the bell, but that day he arrived 30 minutes earlier.

At first he considered it a waste. There was no one at school yet, save for the staff. There wasn’t even anyone to try his new powers on, just to see if they truly worked as he believed. He weighed his options, considering if he should go to his classroom and wait there, go to the music room or wander around until he found someone to test his new power. In the end, his curiosity won and he began to walk around the first floor, aimlessly searching for someone.

It was then that he heard the sound of hurried steps coming from one of the hallways. He peeked from a corner and saw her, walking at a quick pace.

Milana Aliev.

Thanks for stating and affirming where this story is headed. This story really has become so good. I love how even though it's a sex filled harem it's a nice little love story. I enjoy it's scope so far and it doesn't try to be something huge or grand. Oliver feels like he earns the affection and tries to be the best him he can be. The girls are all unique and have their own development. At the end of the day came for the sexy times stayed for the romance.

Appreciate the spoiler. I'll be honest, I don't know that this story really needed a villain, but based on your quality of work I'm going to wait and see. I love this thread for the warm fuzzy feelings at the end. Hopefully it doesn't get too tense.

I think a bit of tension is good every now and then even in these kinds of stories. Protecting those you care about, fighting to keep them safe, stuff like that make the sweet moments sweeter because you know they've gone through stuff that test their relationship. In this specific case, however, this is working as more of a vehicle for future things.
