Chapter 310: Gathering at Grace’s house.

And speaking of stepping out of my comfort zone, that Sunday we were all getting together at Grace’s house, and by ‘all’ I mean my girlfriends and I. Grace said that her housemaid and the gardener didn’t work on Sundays. And with her dad away on business and her mom away on a sudden vacation, Grace had no qualms over inviting me and the others to her house with practically no subtleties over what was going to happen in there. She said we’d have her house all to ourselves.

See, on the one hand, I was somewhat uncomfortable with the idea, in the same way I was uncomfortable when Sarah invited me to her house for the first time. Doing dirty things with someone’s daughter in their own house felt… wrong. But on the other hand, these people left my girl alone during Christmas and new years, so fuck them.

You constantly leave your daughter alone, even during important holidays, and expect her to wait there like a good girl? Not like they gave her any good reasons to. No, after that night at my house, my own qualms about going over to Grace’s house were very quickly fading into the background.

In fact, I swallowed my shame and asked mom if I could stay over until tomorrow, at least. Surprisingly, she said yes, and with only a single warning to be responsible.

Mila picked me up at my house and we went together to Grace’s house. We got there at 10:00 am, which was a little later than we had agreed. We waited for the electric gate to open, and as Mila drove in, we saw Sarah’s SUV already parked there.

“Told you we’d be the last ones,” I told Mila.

“Blame my bedsheets! They wouldn’t let me go!”

It was a cute way of saying she overslept, so I forgave her.

In case you don’t remember, Grace’s house is a single story tall, but it’s really wide.  It had a stone front and a roof of red tiles. Mila and I walked the stone path in the middle of all the grass and went up to the front door. We rang the doorbell and Sarah was the one who let us in.

“Come in. Make yourselves at home,” she said casually. It got a chuckle out of me. She led us to the living room, where Alice, Noelle and Grace were having breakfast.

The living room was big. Maybe too big. It left a lot of space unused. The sectional couches helped in defining an area to use in all that space since they were set to make a 90 degree angle with a wine-red carpet below and a large coffee table made of dark wood in the middle. On the wall in front of the couches was a tall, wide media cabinet of the same dark wood displaying the large TV, some small sculptures, some pottery and some framed pictures. The floor was also made of wood, but this one clearer and in square patterns, like tiles. The ceiling was high and had two glass chandeliers. The windows were tall, so while narrow, they still let a lot of light in.

“Too much for only two people living here, right?” Grace said, smiling at me as she set her cup of tea down on the coffee table.

“Well… Yeah.”

“This was my grandfather’s house. Dad likes it and refuses to move.”

“I think it’s pretty,” Noelle said. “But yes, it feels like there’s too much space.”

Mila and I went to sit down with everyone. There was a porcelain teapot on the table, as well as a basket with pastries and another with small sandwiches. There were also cups and plates for everyone.

I was about to take a seat next to Grace, but she stopped me, grinning and making shooing gestures with her hands. “Nope. Go away. I had my time with you. It’s someone else’s turn to have you.”

“I’ll have him if you don’t want him, then,” Mila said, pulling me by the arm and making me sit between her and Noelle. The redhead took the opportunity to kiss me on the cheek to draw my attention.

“Did you rest well yesterday?” she asked me.

“Mmm, hard to say,” I told her. “I was busy all day, but I had a good time. I finished building Isabelle’s PC and then spent the rest of the day playing guitar, bass and the ocarina.”

“Ocarina?” Noelle asked, eyes widening. “You have an ocarina?”

“I do now,” I told her. “Thomas gave me one for Christmas.”

The redhead grinned. “Do you think you could play…”

“Way ahead of you,” I told her. Even to me, someone who’s not a big fan of the series, an ocarina is synonymous with a very specific video game, and Noelle knew that, too. “I already started practicing one.”

Her smile grew. “Which one?”

“Song of Storms.”

Mila pouted beside me. “Hm. Maybe I should get into games, too. I get a little jealous when I see you two having these talks.”

“Right?” Alice agreed, giggling. “I think it’s cool that you can nerd out together, but it makes me wish we could do the same.”

“I tried running that game we played at your house on my laptop, but that thing’s too old, apparently,” Sarah said.

Noelle blushed. “We don’t really nerd out a lot.”

“Hmm. I knew this already, but we don’t have a lot in common with Oliver, do we?” Grace asked.

“Yeah,” Sarah said. “He doesn’t like parties like we do.”

“Or going shopping,” Mila added. “Or even using social media.”

Alice shrugged. “Well, I don’t have that much in common with any of you, either. I’m not into using social media like you all are, and I know you don’t particularly enjoy it when I start talking about cars. Oliver at least listens to me.”

“I like listening, though,” I told her. “I’ve learned a lot already. Do we need to have hobbies in common to be together?” I asked.

“Well, clearly not,” Sarah said. “Unless these past five months have been a fluke.”

“And sometimes having things in common doesn’t even help,” Alice said. “I… dated a college guy for a while, someone I met at one of the car meets. That didn’t go very well, even though we were both really into cars.”

“I can attest to that,” Grace agreed. “Having different interests opens up the mind to other possibilities instead of staying cooped up in your own little echo chamber.” She looked at Noelle. “We never would’ve tried that one series if not for Noelle, right?”

“Oh, yeah! That was fun,” Mila said. “Is there any other one that’s kinda like it?”

We ate breakfast in peace, talking about simple things, enjoying each other’s presence. It was after breakfast that things began to get… spicy.

************

Chapter 311: The truth or dare app.

We finished eating breakfast, and after a brief, comfortable silence, I asked, “So… What do you want to do now?”

“I know what I want to do,” Mila said. She smiled seductively at me and ran her finger from my neck to my chest. “Sorry to be so blunt about it, but it’s been a little too long for me.”

“We already had a family-friendly Christmas,” Grace said. “Don’t worry about anything. We can do what we want for as long as we want.”

Beside me, Noelle swallowed with red cheeks. “Is it really okay?”

Grace smirked. “So long as you help me clean up afterwards, of course.”

“We’ll take you up on the offer, then.” Then, as Alice casually began to unbutton her shit…

“Stop!” Mila told her, making Alice freeze with a puzzled look on her face. It was Mila’s turn to smirk. “Sure, we could just jump into it like wild rabbits, but… Why don’t we make a game out of it?”

Sarah smiled, leaned back on her seat and crossed her arms. “Go on, I’m listening.”

Mila brought out her phone, tapped on the screen and showed us what she had in mind. On her phone screen was an app called ‘Spice the Night: The Truth or Dare Game!’

“Remember when we started hanging out with Oliver and we played truth or dare?” Mila asked. Grace and Sarah nodded. “We kept it super tame that time, but now… I checked plenty of apps and this one seems the most fun. It has questions and dares by levels: mild, medium, hot and extra hot. You can set it for group play, too and…” As Mila grinned, her cheeks began to redden. “You can specify if a player wants to interact with men, women or both.”

“Okay, I’m sold,” Sarah said. “Let’s give it a try.”

“Yes, it sounds fun,” Noelle agreed.

“Better than jumping into it all of a sudden,” Alice said, buttoning up her shirt. “You came prepared, huh?”

Mila puffed her chest proudly. “I’ve been looking forward to this day!”

“What do you think, Oliver?” Grace asked me.

I swallowed. That time as a kid when I played truth or dare was still in my mind. This was entirely different, though. This time… I knew it would be fun.

“Let’s do it.”

“Yes!” Mila fistpumped and pecked my cheek. “So… I’ll write all our names here.”

“Set me to interact with girls,” Sarah said.

“Me too,” Grace said.

“H-Hey…” Noelle spoke up. She sounded hesitant. “If we… If we’re uncomfortable doing a dare, can we… refuse?”

“Hm? Of course,” Mila said. “We’re here to have fun, not make things awkward between us.”

“Well said,” Alice praised. “I said I was willing to try girl-on-girl stuff, but I don’t know how far I’m willing to go yet. So with that in mind, set me to interact with girls, too.”

Noelle nodded. “Me too.”

“Ah, me too,” I told Mila, which got a louder laugh out of everyone than I thought it would.

“Hmm, with these settings, we might not get to do a lot with Oliver,” Mila said.

“We’ll consider it the lucky rolls, then,” Sarah said.

And I’d get to watch them play around with each other. Fuck, my heart began to beat faster.

“Alright. I’ll press the button and the app will choose one of us at random. That person has to choose either truth or dare,” Mila explained. “Then the question or the dare will pick someone else for them to interact with or answer the question about.”

“Got it. Now shoot!” Sarah said.

“We’ll start with the ‘mild’ level, okay? Here we go!”

Mila pressed the button, and since I was behind her, I saw all our names start to spin and converge in the middle of the screen until one popped out.

“Noelle, you’re up!” Mila said. “Truth or dare?”

“T-Truth,” she said. I felt some of her nerves and knew she didn’t feel ready to start with a dare, nor be the first one to do it.

Mila then read the question. “If Oliver suddenly gained 20 kilos, would you stay with him? It actually says Grace’s name, but you’re not dating her, are you?” Mila and Noelle giggled at that.

Noelle looked at me and gave me a nervous smile. “I would, no question about it. But… I… I do like how he looks now, so…”

“Please don’t gain weight. Got it.” I nodded. Then I smirked and teasingly poked Noelle on the side. “But then I’ll hold you to the same standards.”

Noelle’s eyes widened. She looked down and placed her hands on her belly. Then, with a look of fierce determination, she nodded. “I promise!”

Okay, I suddenly felt bad about it. “D-Don’t take it so seriously,” I said, laughing.

“Hey, it’s fair, isn’t it? You’re handsome and sexy, so we’d like you to stay that was for as long as humanly possible. Of course, we should try to do the same.”

“Just… don’t go overboard, okay?” I told them.

“No surgery, then,” Sarah said, nodding her approval. “Okay, that one really was mild. I think I like this. Let’s do the next one.”

Mila pressed the button again, and our names spun. When mine came up, all the girls smirked. “Truth or dare, Mr. Boyfriend?” she asked me.

I swallowed. “D-Dare.”

“Remove two articles of clothing of your choice,” Mila read.

Sarah whistles loudly while Alice laughed and clapped.

Okay, this wasn’t so bad. I was wearing a black jacket over a long-sleeve gray shirt, so I took that one off first. Then… a shoe, which caused me to get unanimously booed, even by Noelle!

“Show more skin!” Mila shouted with her hands around her mouth.

“We want abs!” Alice shouted with her.

“Free the nipples!” Sarah added.

“Show feet!” Noelle said.

Fuck me… For a split second I almost believed I’d screwed up again, that I was being the same, lame and boring guy as always. But the girls all had grins on their faces, and those shouts… Dammit, it was funny. This was different. It wouldn’t be a repeat of that one time, or a repeat of what happened when we played Never Have I Ever with the guys.

Yes. This was going to be fun.

I apologize that not a lot happened in these chapters. There are mostly setup for the truth or dare chapters that are coming up because I feel weird just suddenly jumping to them playing it. Also, I suck at describing places and things. As you may remember, I'm not a native English speaker, so while I know a lot, I utterly fail when it comes to naming some specific buildings, clothes, furniture and such that I've never seen named before. I have to read a lot to write descriptions, so those take a lot of time. On the other hand, there's the truth or dare scenes, which I love writing and are fairly quick to get done. I get a prompt and the interactions mostly flow on their own. They also shine more light on the characters themselves, which is the main objective here. I try not to rely to much on this game, but I hadn't brought it up since the very begining of the story, so I figured it was time.

The descriptions seemed fine to me. And I love a good game of truth or dare.

First of all, it's nearly impossible to remember that you're not a native english speaker. You write with more proficiency than most who grew up speaking only English. You rock. Secondly, the only reason lack of progress is any sort of frustration is because I want all the story now! You've written such a wonderful world, with such amazing characters that I can't wait until what happens next, pretty much all the time. So very, very good.
