Back in Japan, but not back home just yet. The last two people she needed to bring to the island were in the country, but Delilah hadn’t been able to convince them of going with her. Rather, she hadn’t been able to convince one of them, while the mother of the other refused entirely. Now she’d just have to be more convincing.

First stop was Tokyo. The woman she was meeting didn’t actually know she was coming over. Delilah had asked some people she knew, and finding out where she’d be working that day wasn’t difficult. It wasn’t, because Seina Miryoku was a high profile voice actress. Delilah had to admit she didn’t entirely understand the voice acting industry, so it made little sense to her that someone whose job was supposed to do voice work was in the middle of a photo shoot for a magazine in the middle of a street with a crowd of onlookers. The area was closed to cars and there were plenty of people either just curious of what was happening or trying to catch a glimpse of Seina Miryoku. It wasn’t hard to understand the reason for THAT.

Delilah found a spot and saw her. Pale, cream colored skin; curvy and voluptuous figure; Tall, with long, smooth legs; an oval face with a small beauty mark on her left chin; penetrating grey eyes; and long, raven black straight hair in a princess cut. She wore a stylish and modern outfit consisting of a black skirt and a white shirt with a purse hanging from her shoulder as she posed and was photographed from different angles. And yet, despite her unarguable beauty, there was something that went far, far deeper. Her every move was graceful and hypnotizing. People stared at her like they were looking for their own reflection on her flawless skin. Her dark hair shone in ways that could seem both unnatural and beautiful at the same time. Her smile hid the secrets of the universe, more mysterious and captivating than the Mona Lisa herself.

Seina Miryoku was a woman born with unrivaled charm. Even if women could be considered beautiful in many different ways, Seina stood above them all due to an unexplainable aura she emitted. Simply looking at her made people understand that she was the most beautiful woman in the world. It was only thanks to Delilah’s own Gift that she could see past that. Delilah saw exhaustion, annoyance at the hundreds of eyes on her, a desire to leave this place. But worse than that, she saw that Seina Miryoku didn’t understand these things herself.

She waited for the shoot to be over and approached the staff, asking to be allowed to speak to Miryoku-san. She was turned away, but after she asked them to mention her name to the voice actress, she was allowed in her makeup and wardrobe trailer. There, Delilah saw the woman who was the object of everyone’s desire.

“You’re here again, Wisler-san?” Miryoku-san asked with a small, tired smile.

“I’m not giving up on getting you to come back with me,” Delilah said with a lighthearted chuckle.

“I told you, ma’am. I’m way too busy. My career is finally on the rise. I have a responsibility to see this through,” she said before drinking some water from a bottle. Even that simple action seemed to carry grace worthy of a great empress.

“You don’t look well, dear,” Delilah said firmly. “You’ve been overworking. You don’t feel it now because of how busy you are, but it’ll catch up to you soon, and it’ll be a bigger dent on your career than taking some time off.”

The voice actress grimaced. “It’s true that my role in a show is ending with no news of a third season, and I don’t have another lined up. But… I have so many other events to attend to. My agent is working hard to help me become a great voice actress. I have to work hard as well.”

“You seem to have a big following. I’m sure your fans would rather you stay well-rested than collapse from overwork. And besides,” Delilah gave her a small smile. “Remember the Book I told you about? It’s working. And its holder is such a nice boy, too.”

Miryoku-san’s mouth hung half opened and her lower lip quivered. That seemed to have tempted her. No wonder. Stress from work combined with the inability to relieve sexual stress. The combination was taking a huge toll on her, body and mind.

“…My agent would never allow it,” she said, looking downcast. “I will lose fans, too.”

“I will speak to your agent myself. I can be very persuasive, you know?” Delilah said with an innocent smile. “I understand what you’re going through, dear. I see it clearly. Perhaps more so than you do. You need to take some time, examine yourself and think hard and calmly about lots of things. Come with me to Noroi Island. I promise you won’t regret it.”

“…” Miryoku-san smiled. Her shoulders relaxed and a few tears started forming at the corner of her eyes. She held them back, as they would ruin her make up. “Very well. I’ll go with you, Wisler-san.”
