So, uh... we're getting closer to that goal far sooner than I expected. Thank you so much, people!  It's always a big confidence boost.

I've had something in mind to propose for the goal, but I'd still like your opinion on this.

My problem with offering certain things is that I have to know I can deliver on them 100%. That's why I hesitate to offer things like request chapters, both because I worry there might be too many requests that I can't meet them all, and because I don't think I can write someone else's idea without taking several liberties.

That being said, here's what I'm offering:

  • Make a new, lower pledge tier ($1) that has the same current benefits as a $2 pledge.
  • Let $4 patreons who wish to participate suggest 1 idea each for a one-shot short story for some of my already published works. This would mean a 2k-3k words extra chapter a month, based on your ideas and votes.
  • With this, both $2 and $4 patreons can vote on which idea they'd like to see the most. So it would be in your hands.

However, these are the things to consider:

  • I would NEED the right to either make some alterations to the idea and tackle it in an angle I want, or just outright refuse the idea. It sounds shitty, but I think you know the kind of stuff I write by now. If, for some reason, you guys vote for an idea proposing a story about themes I dislike (such as rape, male on male, transexual, MMF or others), not only will I find it very uncomfortable to write, it's also very unlikely you'll get a good chapter.
  • On that point, it's hard for me to say what would be okay and what wouldn't, so I'd have to see it on a case by case basis.
  • In the case of ongoing stories (such as The Affection Multiplier), these one-shots would be either considered non-canon or canon some place in-between or after the main storyline.
  • This is unlikely, but in the case people want something for my short branch on Cheerleader Destiny, it would depend on the chapter itself being approved there, since the story is moderated. Of course, though, the chapter would still be available here in the patreon.
  • Keeping in line with pledge tier rewards, these one-shots would be available to $4 patreons a week earlier than to others.

There might be more to consider, but I hope you understand that I don't want to take things lightly. I am extremely commited to everything I offer and everything I write. The support you're giving me means the world to me and I want to give you the best stories I can.

So basically, after that explanation that went a little longer than expected, the question is:

Do you think this is a good idea for the $100 goal?

I completly understand that you are need to stay in control of your own work. For the sake of us all and our joy of reading your stuff. I think it's hard enough to let people control you that you don't want to disappoint. Perhaps this should be more about recognizing your talent and thanking you by giving us the opportunity to get involved directly without having to take the story into account. Then you do it already. It is very fair of you not to raise the actual contributions. Thanks for that.

So me personally I would rather have you focus on your main story instead of spreading yourself thin. One thing I've seen other patreon do is say have a $1 that has the $2 benefits, have the $2 get a chapter ahead and have the $4 be two chapters ahead (or basicly stays the same). This incentivised the lower tiers to upgrade and also makes the higher tiers/ those that are already paying happy that they are getting more or not losing anything.

I agree that I don't want to spread myself thin, but an extra one-shot a month shouldn't be too bad. Besides, I've been wanting to write short side-stories for a while. Though I've thought about your suggestion before, and it's still not off the table.
