Chapter 02

I'm not very fast to complete this story, but at least, I'm working on it ^^

Writing a Speech

After spending the day shopping for shoes, jewelry, and even a little makeup, the two friends made one last stop at a wine store. They then head to the underground parking lot to put all the purchases in the trunk of the car. Soon after, they take the road to the restaurant where they decided to pick up some food before taking the direction of Kim’s apartment.

Once arrived, Lola puts down a white wine bottle and meal on the counter of the kitchen, while the owner of the place takes out cups and a bottle opener. Together they toast to this day between girls, which despite the reticence of the beautiful redhead, was a success.

Once the meal is finished, wine and chips in hand, they settle down in the living room and choose a movie to relax. Considering the hour at which Lola have to get up in the morning, the tiredness ended up catching up with her and when the film finishes, she prepares to leave. Thanking her friend one last time with a hug, she takes the road home.

Car parked, packages in hands, Lola takes the way to the elevators, greeting the doorman in the entry hall of the building. Finally arriving home, she goes up directly to the bedroom to deposit her bags so that Zakary does not see them. She then joins him, having seen him slumped at the table of the dining room. She embraces him from behind while he raises his back a little.

—Hello my beautiful, she says kissing him on the back of the ear.

—Good evening, my muse, how was your day? He asks while turning over towards his sweet girl.

-Overall, it went well. I must admit that Kim knows how to advise me well and that we could have a little fun despite all the exasperating side to try dresses and shoes. Well, I would have liked to spend half as much time in fitting rooms, but I think I found something nice.

—And can I see this dress?

—No way! You’ll get the surprise on the day, not before.

—Okay, it’s just that Tylender was telling me that if he wants to help me pick out a suit and tie, he needs to know what your dress looks like, so I can match it to your style … or something. Or something like that. Zak shrugs.

—Hm… Well, I’ll send him a picture with a description and that’s it. He’ll know what it looks like and you won’t see it.

—That’s an idea, agrees Zakary, smiling. He nonchalantly sits back down at the table, his head resting on his left hand.

Lola walks around the table and settles into the chair opposite Zakary. She rests her head on her arms, slumped over, facing Zakary. She stifles a yawn.

—I’m tired… How’s your speech coming?

—Not as fast as I’d like, but I think I’m on to something. Good thing I don’t have to do this often. It’s a pain in the ass… But I think my dad will be happy.

—That’s good. Have you heard from your sister?

—Bianca told me that her text has already been finished for a week and that she was waiting for mine “impatiently” to finalize it with my mother. Zakary explains, rolling his eyes.

—Cheer up… It’s going to be a big night and we’ll have holy peace for a while, answers Lola by leaning her forehead on her forearms and closing her eyes with fatigue.

—You look exhausted, why don’t you take the opportunity to run a nice hot bath? I’ll be a while and then I’ll come and join you in bed.

Lola thinks for a moment. She gets up, leaning on her elbows.

—That’s a good idea, she replies, getting up.

She gets up, walks around the table and kisses Zak on the cheek, then leaves in the direction of the bathroom upstairs. Zakary looks at her leaving while smiling, then gets back to his task, impatient to finish it…

Note: thanks to my husband who translated it and my accomplice who read it and helped me with the text.
