 As I am now on vacation (from 1 of my 3 jobs at least, lol), I have more time to play with this, so it's time for some news:

New Frames > Since now I can rip all the frames from the original game, I've added new frames  to some enemies,
like Soldier's screen jump (plus other animations)

And Guard new fall and rise animations

FAINT > I am working to give every playable character a faint animation, which happens when you have low HP. I think it's add a little touch to the game

Nightcrawler > He is going fine. Since he is a very agile character, he has some cool tricks like Wall Jump and Fall recovery. Also, he will have OTG attack too, like Wolverine.

Optmization > I've managed to trim some fat from the game
