I've been curled up in a ball all day trying not to move and drinking Pedialyte because it's the only thing that doesn't make me feel spinny. 😣

I'm gonna try to record tomorrow once my brain doesn't feel like it's gonna detonate inside my skull

Sorry to hear that. 2 tylenol and 1 ibuprofen is usually the only cure for me.

I turn off all the lights and stay in a dark room when I get them 😵‍💫 Feel better soon!

Wife used to get nasty migraines; once she started seeing a chiropractor regularly and doing some stretches/exercises for her neck, they started to become less and less frequent. I think it’s been about 4 years now since her last one, give or take. As for dealing with the pain now, excedrin seems to work best for us, and getting as much sleep and hydration as possible. Feel better soon!

I worked in medical for a time, and keeping hydrated helps, but you mostly just treat the symptoms if you don't know the cause of it. The basics are stay in a well shaded, keep hydrated (intersperse water with your electrolyte intake to avoid hypernutremia), and sleep it off if you can.

Family suffers with the damn things. Best you can do is take some painkillers, get into a quiet and dark room and try to sleep the worst of it off. Also keep yourself hydrated with water. Hope this helps.

I get them and find that the only thing that helps is sitting in a fairly hot shower with the water running directly on my head, then trying to sleep it off if it eases up for long enough to get to sleep.

I suffer from somewhat frequent migraines, though not often enough to warrant medication. For me, menthol balms help a lot, so I always have a bunch stockpiled.

Sorry you are going through that. I've had chronic migraines for years and it's the worst. Here's some things you can use try pretty much immediately: Laying down with an ice pack under your neck (suboccipital muscles) and a cool wet cloth (stick in the freezer for a few mins) covering your forehead and temples can help a bit. Ginger tea and lightly massaging the area between your thumb and pointer finger helps with nausea. Also recommend seeing a neurologist if you get migraines with any regularity. Anti-CGRP drugs (Ajovy & Nurtec), and botox have made the most difference for reducing both frequency and severity for me. There are manufacturer coupons that reduce price down to practically nothing for all of those. Nurtec is the only thing I've had actually stop a migraine once it's started.

Last time I had a horrible migraine I just made sure I kept myself hydrated and had a long warm soak in the shower. Supposedly that's supposed to help but I don't know the science behind it.

I’m a few months late here, but I’m studying to become a pharmaceutical chemist! It depends on the type of migraine really. Staying hydrated and having enough electrolytes is p important for most headaches. Some regular intensity headaches are cause by vasoconstriction in some blood vessels in your head, usually due to inflammation, so acetaminophen or NSAIDs could be helpful Some migraines are caused by vasodilation in some blood vessels in your head. Drugs that cause vasoconstriction could help with those, caffeine or amphetamines or ephedrine would be helpful. This is why excedrine and some other OTC migraine meds contain acetaminophen and caffeine; the APAP isn’t as vasodilating as ibuprofen or naproxen would be, but it helps with inflammation if present. Other migraines are closer to cluster headaches, and those are pretty tough to treat. The only real remedies for cluster headaches are 5HT2a agonists like LSD and psilocybin mushrooms. A psychedelic micro dose could help that type of headache feel better
