What's Blue up to these days?

May was fun, I've started riding my bike again and I forgot how much I missed it. I've spent the past couple of years locked into that exhausting quarantine depression feeling (if y'all know what I mean) where I'm not as active as I once was. I used to dance, bike, and hike a ton. I'm finally getting back into all that and it feels amazing!!

I don't generally talk about this sort of thing, as the majority of my audience tends to be heterosexual guys (Hello and welcome!!), but here's something I wrote a while back that's been on my mind these days.

With Pride coming up I've been thinking a lot about my journey to get where I am now, where I feel safer being out in public with my same sex partners. My partners, my queer friends, and I all feel the same overwhelming undercurrent of anxiousness as most of us came from households where our real identities weren't accepted. Most of us still have to pretend we're straight when we go home for the holidays.

I find myself wishing every day that we lived in a better world, where me and my friends and people like us didn't have to constantly be scared of getting hurt by people who should love us unconditionally, just because of the people we love.

I grew up in a really homophobic community in the southern USA. I'll never forget being called all kinds of horrible names by people just for looking at a girl I liked for too long, for holding her hand (my heart nearly beat out of my chest and I was absolutely useless for the rest of the day, haha!)

I remember thinking that if the people who were disgusted by me loving this girl could just feel, for one second, the pure joy and deep, contented affection I felt whenever I saw her smile...surely they would get it. Me and that girl ended up never really getting together (although we're still friends to this day and she's now married to a wonderful woman who treats her like the queen she is). I wish we hadn't grown up in a town where we were too scared to be together.

I'm grateful my life eventually lead me to a better place. I'm happy to be able to put a pride flag in my window without the glass getting smashed. I'm happy I can go out in public with my femme presenting partners (mostly) without getting harassed. I'm sad I had to move pretty much as far as geographically possible from my hometown to do it. But I'll take it!!

I hope for anyone reading, who is also in a place in their life where they are finally able to stop hiding, that you are able to find peace in a better place as well. ❤️ Thinking today of my fellow queer folk around the world who live in that painful silence for their own safety. I wish I could hug you and tell you how strong you are. I hope one day you won't have to be strong anymore.

What's the news in terms of audio?

Moan-your-name audios are still in progress!! 😅 I put up an announcement this morning about I-M name deliveries being delayed by one day. I'll be delivering them tomorrow night! A-H names have already been delivered, so if you ordered a 2 or 3 minute audio you should hopefully have received an email from me already (lookingformybluesky@protonmail will be the email it comes from, so check your spam if you haven't received it yet). I start working on N-Z names this upcoming week, and will hopefully have all of those delivered by 6/11. I'll keep y'all updated!

I got permission from a few different authors to record and post some SFW scripted works to Patreon and YouTube, so be on the lookout for those as they're completed!! I'm working on those as an extra side project in between other things. 😎

I have a couple of new collabs in the works, including someone I've never collabbed with before who I think you'll be thrilled to hear! You should see those in late June or July.

Random Trivia

What is Blue listening to these days?

I just started listening to Two Hot Takes and every time I listen to a new episode I feel like that meme of the guy laughing and eating salad next to a poster of a group of friends. Externally: "Lmao yes you are so right my dude" Internally: Why in the fuck am I replying to the people on the radio like they can hear me

How is your D&D campaign going?

If these idiots don't kill Strahd soon I'm gonna kill him myself. Just kidding, I'm enjoying making his traps more and more elaborate. I've sent them on a wild goose chase for a weapon some random peasant told them they could use to kill him, which they fully believed without rolling a single insight check or questioning how this person knew this whatsoever. This is why you always check your news sources, friends. Luckily my players are extremely good humored and I know they're gonna find it hilarious when they fight their way through this dungeon only to find a triple locked chest with a coffee stained note saying "gotcha" and then get attacked by Strahd again. Yeah...they're gonna find it hilarious...at least I will!! 🤣

Blue's question for you this month:

How do you like to exercise? Weights, running, dancing, hiking, etc?

The pride part really hit me hard today. I live in that kind of place and have considered moving for YEARS. I love my hometown. Never been anywhere else. But sometimes I dream of more tolerant places.

It's definitely tough. It feels like you can only have half of yourself either way and there's no easy answers. 🫂 I hope the right choice for you makes itself clear.

Morning Blue! 😂 I am glad to hear that you have been able to get back to doing the things that you love to do, because of... You know... Anyways! To answer your question: I like to go for walks, (any time of day), occasionally play basketball at my local court, go for morning runs, body weight training, Martial Arts, battle rope exercises, and hyperbolic stretching.

Happy Pride, Blue. :) it’s a fun time of year to think back to being useless gaybies. I usually feel gratitude during this time as I grew up in an accepting environment, never really “in the closet”, so reading other lgbt+ experiences puts things in perspective. I hope you enjoy celebrating amongst friends and partners!

I have a fairly physical job so that keeps me active enough. On my feet for 8 hours a day, always on the move. Then on days off there's the 'substitute full body workout' AKA going grocery shopping at a place that's 1 hour walk away (I walk fast so it's 45 mins for me) then walking back with heavy shopping bags in each hand and a backpack filled with goodies 💪 I've put on a fair bit of weight during the 2 years of lockdowns so it might be time for some home workouts! I'm not overweight and if I stand straight I look in good shape but the second I relax and slouch it looks like I'm expecting 😩 💙🏳️‍🌈

Happy June! So sorry that you, and so many others, have been persecuted simply for loving someone. I'm sure I speak for most everyone here when I say: love is love. Super happy to hear you've been back on your feet, so to speak. I definitely feel ya, quarantine has been rough on all of us. My cardio and flexibility have SUFFERED! I like to keep active through martial arts, which I have been doing for 15 years, so most of my life. Still working on recovering endurance and flexibility so I can return to what I consider acceptable standards. God as my witness, I will execute a 540 jump spin round into hook kick by the end of the year or break my ankle trying.
